Great place to stay en route from Calgary airport to the Rockies. It probably has the best location in Canmore as it is just off the main highway and so is easy to find but only a 15 minute walk into town along a tree lined path. The hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, well equiped and clean. The beds were very comfortable with good, firm matresses. Suite 419 was great for 2 adults and 2 teenagers with a large lounge/kitchen, sofa bed, two good size double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a patio. It was at the back of the hotel and so quieter than the rooms at the front which have a mountain view but face the highway.

If I bought a vacation home, Falcon Crest Lodge could be perfect. Good location near town, good views, good quaint mountain chalet design, good service, good layout, good kitchen utensils/equipment in the suite for all basic types of cooking and living. Note that there are no spice/cooking supplies which is to be expected since people don't want to share other people's food.

Stayed two nights to do hiking in the area. Everything I needed to be comfortable was provided in the suite. Did my laundry, sat on the sunny deck, cooked my own meals, lounged on the sofa while planning the rest of my trip: I thought to myself at one point as I looked around the suite, "I could live here."

The front desk host (Libor) was friendly and informative, personally showing me the two possible rooms in case I considered an upgrade. It is nice to know that people like Libor are passionate about the area, which makes one appreciate being in the heart of world class scenery and hiking just that much more. Little extras were nice: free use of board games, free use of movies, free use of guide books, and you could even borrow bear spray. They provide complimentary anti-static sheets for the dryer and stock your washer daily with a new box of detergent.

The Indochine Restaurant was good enough for a fast meal and to save the personal effort. Commute time was 1 minute down the elevator and right beside the reception.

Overall, Falcon Crest Lodge is like the vacation condo you might buy if you decided to buy in Canmore. I found it great value, and a great stay.

Room tip: Mountain facing rooms also face the railroad tracks and one of the main roads into Canmore. The 'quieter' rooms would likely face the parking lot, with any associated noises from people pulling up and setting their car alarms (that little beep that goes off). Having said that, there are few places in Canmore where you can escape the noise from the railway tracks, or the traffic. Pick the view if you are only here for a short time and have limited exposure to the amazing trails in the area.

We stayed in a queen suite- with the outside deck and barbecue, the washer/dryer, the full kitchen, soaking tub, robes, 2 flat screen TV's-
It was wonderful. Staff were all smiling and helpful, loaning out travel books, DVDs, one even had a park pass for us to use. Wi-fi was very good. Washer dryer came with tide, dishwasher with soap, coffee pot with coffee, kitchen w/ pots, pans, silverware and plates/glasses for 4- and cooking and barbecue utensils (all in great shape, not old and scary!); bathroom shampoo/conditioner/moisturizer and soaps so nice we grabbed what we didn't use ;)
Bed was very comfortable, adjustable thermostat quick and responsive, nice fireplace - what else can I say except it was all clean, clean, clean! Barbecue was slow to heat up but made the skewers we got from Valbella's (another great spot!) mouth-watering with the slower cooking-
Would come back in a heartbeat, thanks guys!

Room tip: Ask for a room view early- like, as soon as you make your reservation. It's so worth the extra $25/night, but those rooms go quick! We were happy with 2nd floor mountain view, but I imagine 3rd and 4th floor would be amazing.

This place had all the comforts of a modern home. Great design of rooms. We travelled with another couple and felt this place gave us a great common room as well as appropriate privacy. We each had our bathrooms which was a bonus! Hotel was a 5 min walk to downtown and close to walking paths. Loved the little touches such as fresh grapefruit water in the lobby and popcorn available with the DVD's! Will definitely be back for ski season!!!

I stayed here in June for 4-5 nights with my girlfriend, and I'd say it was "Money well spent".
Staff were amazingly friendly, our room was more than great, and so clean, outdoor hot tub was cozy enough.
I make lots of trips to Banff/Canmore area due to my work, and I can say this hotel will be my favorite in this area. Only downside was that they don't have breakfast. Other than that it was a pleasant stay, I'll be back here for sure-

Room tip: Mountain view rooms worth the extra money.
