A restaurant in the center of St. Jerome where you can have a business meeting or a dinner before the concert. The service is good, the food tasty and affordable. The restaurant was quite full with people in business suits. Apparently the locals appreciate Le Soleo.
The table-d'hôte includes soup or salad, main dish, desert and coffee ($13 to $32) and the evening menu is also inclusive at similar prices.
Bread was served nicely warmed. Salad came with the extra vinaigrette requested, and the young lady came with a pepper mill and parmasan. The main dish was filet of Pangas fish with rice and vegetables. The fish was covered with an original sauce made of red sweet peppers. The vegetables were good, and so was the rice. I even asked to speak to the Chef Martin St. Jean who has been working there for the past eleven years. He graciously shared the way he prepared that good sauce all done from scratch, no thickeners or powders. He also told me that for dinner he prepares deserts such as crême brulé, cheese cake and Tiramisu. The desert that day was either carrot cake or a maple caramel cake which was quite nice. The coffee was freshly brewed even though it was the end of lunch-hour service.
