We stayed at the Clarion for a bit of a get away. When checking in our front desk person was uninterested that we were there and barely spoke to us. Upon getting to the room and for the few hours before dinner, all we could hear were children yelling and running through the halls and construction taking place. We thought things would quiet down when we returned after dinner but no such luck. Front desk informed us that they had spoken to some of the children, but have they spoken to the parents?
We had planned to be lazy the next day and take it slow, however we were woken up at 8 am by a knock on the door followed by a phone call to let us know our toothpaste had arrived though we had not ordered any. We attempted to fall back asleep and were once again woken at 9 am by the sound of construction as if someone were removing tiles on the other side of our wall.
We called down and the front desk could actually hear this through the phone. Unfortunately it continued until our check out (for another two hours).
We will not be returning to this hotel. Though the beds were comfortable, nothing else was. In addition there was no indication that construction would be taking place when booking. If we had been aware, we would have had different expectations or planned to stay elsewhere. A poster in the elevator is hardly providing guests with notice. I'd recommend booking elsewhere until construction has ended though I can't say our service was great either.
