I was looking for a small seafood restaurant in Sidney, B.C. and. stumbled into the Pier Bistro. It's small, cozy and inviting particularly when the tourist crowds have long departed. The views are gorgeous. Small inviting islands dominate the horizon. The The server Lisa was professional, prompt and eager to offer suggestions. I had clam chowder (very, very good) with crab cakes. The crab cakes were loaded with crab with a small amount of binder to hold them together. The"star" of the lunch was my wife's crab & shrimp toast "appetizer." It was a meal, not an appetizer. Packed with crab and bay shrimp then topped with cheese, tomato and red onion then quickly finished in the broiler. Good stuff. Credit cards limited to VISA/MC unfortunately.
