We had the pleasure to stay at this lovely historic inn last Tuesday eve and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We were steeped in the history of the area, from the amazing log trim both outside and inside-the bark still on after all these years-how did they do that?-to the beautiful watercolor on wood and tapestry wall coverings. The room was cozy and very comfortable with a propane fireplace to add to the ambiance. The owner, Jenifer, couldn't have been nicer. She worked with us as we had to delay our original stay to correspond with the day our boat was finished with repairs at the nearby boatyard-a floating date as it turned out. We enjoyed visiting with Francis. His exuberance for wanting to make this a special place was amazing. We did not eat at the hotel because it was on winter hours and was closed on Tuesday but I looked at the menu and it was inclusive and creative and we will definitely come back to try it. These owners and Francis are new to the place and are really trying to make the place a very special destination both for a stay and for the restaurant itself. Give them a try-you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be cozy-it is a small boutique inn-our room had a bath and hand shower but one room had a full shower.

Latch in is a wonderful inn. The inn is architecturally and historically significant. The room was comfortable with nice views of Van Isles marina. All the amenities that one needs and the continental breakfast included freshly baked croissants along with the usual breakfast fare. Hosts and owners were gracious. Highly recommended.

Sidney's hidden secret! "The Latch"...for delicious and creative cuisine with a beautiful presentation. Fine dining in a picturesque and historical setting. Our attentive server, Francis, was topnotch in providing us with superb service throughout our evening. Thank you for such great service, a delicious dinner, and a most memorable evening.
We will definitely recommend to our friends and be back again soon.

We had a lovely dinner at the Latch Inn Restaurant. We were hosted by a charming fellow by the name of Francis. Francis gave us a ltour of the beautiful building as well as a bit of history on the location. Our meal was served piping hot and it was delicious. The chef and Server were top notch and they made the evening perfect. We had a lovely evening at this quaint spot by the sea.

Francis was a gracious host, our rooms were lovely and the building is very cool. If we are ever back on Vancouver Island, we would definitely stay here again. Everything was clean and neat. Some older reviews indicate there have been some issues in the past, but the new owner, and Francis the manager, are definitely working hard to address those issues, and from everything we can tell, they've been successful.
