The Explorer's Society Hotel was a wonderful, stylish and friendly oasis in the middle of town. Our room was spacious, well designed and very comfortable with a fantastic shower and lots of extra, thoughtful perks. We enjoyed drinks and dessert on the rooftop terrace, explored the books in the hotel library and soaked in the hot tub. Everything about the place was top notch (including the attached restaurant and bar!) but the best aspect by far was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, welcome and well oriented. Iannik and Naomi (spelling...sorry) both provided amazing info about hikes and local attractions not found in the guidebooks. We had a great stay and loved the beautiful town of Revelstoke and the surrounding nature. We'll be back!

Room tip: We loved room 1!

I booked a standard king room for one night because we needed to make a random overnight stay in Revelstoke. We had a massive shower/bathroom (I believe the room was wheelchair accessible, which is great) that was decorated with nordic wool throws and a cozy white duvet. I really liked how the hotel decor integrated its past history (bricks around the common room fireplace, exposed concrete walls) with modern tiles and lighting. There is a definite cool warmth radiating from the hotel (white washed walls and dark blue-green hallways helped create this effect).
We checked in late and we appreciated the friendly greeting and welcome from Noemie. She's definitely the heart of the hotel- she suggested places to grab a late night meal (btw Taco Club around the corner is really yummy and has some wicked hot sauce).
We appreciated the tech savviness of the hotel; text messaging over in-room phones and Neflix instead on in-room cable. We spent most of our evening in the common room enjoying a fire, tea, Netflix and the great collection of books donated by a former community member. It was a perfect night.
Breakfast was indeed unique and not your average buffet of cereal, muffins and sausage pucks. We enjoyed the yogurt, granola and homemade quiches.
Stumptown coffee and Oneka body products were real treats to try and enjoy. All in all, I am so happy I choose this hotel on a last minute decision. We will definitely return! Special thanks to Noemie for being a gem. Cheers to you all!

Room tip: Room 9 will give you a nice, dark sleep with its solo window

Stayed here for a last minute mountain biking trip for two nights. The hotel is beautiful. It takes a modern twist on local culture, with all the right small touches. We had extremely friendly and knowledgable friendly who were happy to provide recommendations. The room and amenities were beautiful and well thought-out. Will be back for sure!

We stayed in room 3 for a couple of nights and despite the a/c issues the dual aspect room at the front of the hotel was very good. The staff did all they could to help sort out the a/c and they even provided us with a fan.
The self service breakfast was completely different with very limited choices even though the quiche offered was quite tasty, as was the homemade granola. When the coffee ran out on the 2nd morning there was no one to ask to replenish the supplies. This was self service taken to the limit as we were expected to clear all our crockery etc into a bowl, I thought I may have been asked to do the washing up!!!

Thanks for your review and for staying with us. We're glad that you enjoyed Room 3 - my personally favorite room at the property! We appreciated your patience as we had our air conditioning serviced to better cope with the warm weather we're having this Spring. I'm glad you enjoyed our breakfast selections, and I'll be sure to review our replenishment processes, so we ensure our beverages remain full and ready.

Cute, funky hotel. Rooms were comfortable, staff is very friendly and helpful. Close to many restaurants. Tasty breakfast in the upstairs lounge. Nice view from the rooftop hot tub. Loved the tour of the Boiler room. Would definitely stay there again.
