We came on our second visit this year (March 2016), and boy did we hit the jackpot. We had 6 days of storm skiing. Most of a metre of snow came down and we had light fluffy powder the entire time. Brent, Pat, and Ellial managed to find the best lines safe from any slides. The terrain at GNSS is the best around. Rolling hills, wide bowls, steep trees. The glades are some of the best I have ever skied with good natural spacing between the trees. Luckily, we got to ski the frontside burn (old fire zone) this year, which is a magical place. As usual, the hospitality, company, and food was fantastic. And when we accidentally left ski pants behind, Billie-Lou overnight couriered them to our hotel in Vancouver. It is a long way to come from NZ, but definitely worth it.

We will definitely be back. Thanks Brent for a fantastic operation.

I`ve been with GN for the past 4 years. It would be hard to spend winter somewhere else than here. Always looking forward to catch up with returning guests ...meeting new ones...

We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to have skied with GNPG. The whole operation was professional and fun. We felt the leader and the tail guides were extremely competent at what they do.
Safety and fun was most important for all level of skiers. To find a better cat ski organization would be hard to do.
If you are in the Flathead Valley of Montana, make sure to check this off your bucket list and don't miss the opportunity to ski with Jay, Kylan and the boys at Great Northern Powder Guides.

I have been visiting Great Northern Snowcat since the mid 80's on almost an annual basis. Most times with a group of friends or family but also solo. Great Northern (GN) makes you feel at home at their lodge which only accommodates about 15 guests per week. This assures of a cozy lodge atmosphere where social interaction is easy. The meals are very good and are being served family style to the group at breakfast and dinner. Beats the Grand Central Station hectic of some other lodges which I have visited during the years.
GN. operates one cat for the guest (they have two). GN owner, guides and staff are terrific. They know their back country like the palm of their hands and you feel safe at all times, even when the snowpack at an odd period of a respective year can be a bit unsettled. If you love powder, you don't want to go back to your usual ski area after having
skied GN.
