On 5th August 2017 we stopped to visit Mount Revelstoke National Park because of the reviews about the high mountain flower meadows which were spectacular in summer months. The drive from entrance to actual parking was 26km up a spectacular switchback road which took about 35 min to drive. We caught the free shuttle from car park to the meadow area. The views and scenery were amazing, the colours of flowers was great and worth the journey. We hiked the 1km back down to car park where previous week grizzlies had been seen on the trail(so we had to make a four with another couple on advice of park guide) . Because we were en route to Kelowna we could only stay a short while but this could easily be a whole day excursion as there was lots of trails to hike at the top several only 30 minutes long.
