We parked by the Coombs Country Candy how the entrance is across the hwy. Its about a 15 min walk. We went in the end of October. We heard that summer months tends not to have a lot of water flow. There are a few signs along the way. It's a nice easy walk with a few inclines (I wouldn't call it a hike). Once you reach the hole in the wall you can continue down the path about 2-3mins there are a ton oh rock balancing which looks really neat! There was not many people there which was nice. A Little history: The backside of the hole was blasted through a massive wall of volcanic shale to help serve the town water reservoir, and the hole provided the most direct delivery route. Don't forgot your camera!
I saw a picture of this spot on Instagram and wanted to see it in person! From other directions online, we were told to go down the path across from Coombs Candy Store; well we turned around twice until we finally pulled into the shoulder on the side of the highway across from the candy store and saw "Hole in Wall" crudely carved into the road barrier right above a steep sand path. We left our car parked on the side of the highway (and it seems like a lot of people do this). Once we started along the trail, it was actually fairly easy to navigate and there were other signs to guide us. Took only about 10-15 minutes before we reached the Hole in the Wall, which is a beautiful spot. Very quiet and peaceful. Definitely worth the struggle to find the path!
