It's haunted, or so I was told the first time I went to the Hume Hotel.
I never did see any ghosts, but it was almost like stepping back in time. It's quaint, and well-situated in the heart of Nelson (right around the corner from one of my favourite coffee shops in the country, Oso Negro), and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
I especially like the metal old-school room keys and how the elevator opens right into the bar/club in the basement. The food is decent and the staff are friendly there too.
A must-stay spot if you're rolling through Nelson for sure.
