I saw the neon 'diner' sign and thought my choice would be simple, so I set my palate setting to burger, but I was compelled to change my selection when I saw the offerings at the Main Street Diner. Besides regular diner fare, they also offer a surprising variety of Greek selections. As expected in Nelson, lots of vegetarian options are also on the menu. Their prices are very reasonable!

While I was swayed by the Reuben sandwich, my choice was complicated by the Greek dishes on the menu, especially after the waitress told us of the daily specials. I succumbed to the Roast lamb with orzo, potatoes, and green beans, served with a choice of soup or salad. The lamb was done perfectly. The portions are generous and the doggie bags are packaged using environmentally friendly cardboard rather than styrofoam. Service was attentive (3 courteous wait staff ensured we wanted for nothing).

Went for fish and chips with friends this weekend.
The chips were very disappointing, soft and cold. The fish was not much better.
Overall we were not happy with the food at all. Not to mention the small portions.
I have been to The Dock on Ward St for fish and chips, recently and their portions are much bigger and quality is much better as well.
Hands down I will defiantly be going to The Dock before coming back here.

Found this place on a Sunday night a short walk from my hotel. It was very busy but the service was good. Had the "Christos Chicken Wrap" for $12.95. I thought it was expensive for what I was served. The fries were a bit soggy. Not a memorable experience.

This place on Baker Street in the heart of the town has little in the way of atmosphere, but the quality of the food is excellent. We had fried oysters with a ceasar salad side, and they were the plumpest, juiciest and most delicious oysters we've ever had. Don't miss them.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Nelson since 1995.

Whether it's busy or slow the food always comes within 15 minutes usually quicker. The meals are always great.

The fish and chips is great for a family dinner. Verland Harris incredible whether it's a sandwich for lunch or the lamb meal for dinner.

Thank Terry N
