I saw the neon 'diner' sign and thought my choice would be simple, so I set my palate setting to burger, but I was compelled to change my selection when I saw the offerings at the Main Street Diner. Besides regular diner fare, they also offer a surprising variety of Greek selections. As expected in Nelson, lots of vegetarian options are also on the menu. Their prices are very reasonable!
While I was swayed by the Reuben sandwich, my choice was complicated by the Greek dishes on the menu, especially after the waitress told us of the daily specials. I succumbed to the Roast lamb with orzo, potatoes, and green beans, served with a choice of soup or salad. The lamb was done perfectly. The portions are generous and the doggie bags are packaged using environmentally friendly cardboard rather than styrofoam. Service was attentive (3 courteous wait staff ensured we wanted for nothing).
