I had two rooms booked for one week each. I had an email confirmation number for this reservations. I got a really good deal from the hotel reception who booked me in.
However, as time got closer, all the hotels were filling up fast for the summer. The rates doubled everywhere. The hotel called me up a few days before my trip and told me they were going to cancel my reservation as it was double-booked.
As it turned out, I understand that they got a better rate for these rooms, and they gave it away. That is bad business ethics. B
y then everywhere was double the rate I had initially paid. Choice hotels franchise told me they could not do anything about it!
DONT TRUST THIS HOTEL! They will leave you stranded without any consideration if they get a better price.

Garbage hotel bugs all over the room dry blood on the sheets poop in the pool and when we made a complaint the owner came to our room yelling at us for the complaint and saying he does not have the time to clean it not his problem. Then called the cops on us to leave at 10 at night with our small children in the room.

The worst nightmare in our lives experienced by the bullying and threatening hotel management and we are pursuing legal action due to their criminal activities of stealing unauthorised monies from our credit cards and harrassing us (pictures will follow). It started when we arrived in our U-Haul and trailer towing our car and our RV with our cats and dogs inside and our friends truck full of belongings as we were relocating across province due to my husband's job in the correctional service. We reserved the disabled suite by a woman named Nicole that it would accomodate my husband and myself and our disabled senior citizen friend who was helping us move. So we arrived at the Quality Inn in Merritt and contrary to what I was told when I booked the room, the car park does not have security cameras and is not big enough for our U-Haul and tow so we were advised to park anywhere we could. The receptionist even walked down with us and showed us where to park and agreed we should park over 3 spaces to avoid blocking others. The whole set up was not what we had been informed when we booked, but we reluctantly agreed to do this. So we had to unlatch my car from the trailer, remove my car, then remove the trailer, park my car then park the trailer. By the time we had finished it was dark. We parked our RV in the disabled spot as we had booked the disabled room for our disabled senior friend and us. We were also advised it had a pull out couch bed. After doing all of that they told us our room was for 2 people only yet I booked a 3 person room. I protested as they wanted to increase our charge by $50 to provide a cot bed! I refused to pay more so the bullying Manager kicked us out!!! Both my husband and our friend tried to reason with staff but they presented as hostile, aggressive and tried to intimidate my husband by speaking Mandarin to each other then in English to him. They also did this with me. Allen our friend tried to talk to them, he is an indigenous, disabled, senior and they brought out this big Asian man to intimidate him. We decided to sleep in the RV overnight as we could not hook our trailer and car on in the dark. So we moved the RV to the other side of the car park and went to bed. At around 5 am I took our dogs out to pee and they had blocked us in! I have since also read online reviews that this Manager is dishonest, corrupt and has a habit of sneaking in extra costs, and has thrown people out many times before, and is disparaging to patrons. The following morning my husband asked them to move their truck that was purposely blocking us in, this time their thug bouncer told Kieron it was going to cost us money to get our U-Haul back, I have filed a formal complaint with Choice Hotels and Allen our senior, disabled friend told them they had the option to phone the RCMP or he will move their truck with his truck. They phoned the RCMP who of course took our side and told this bullying hotel management to move their truck and to stop harrassing us.. Two Chinese guys (the management again) were still trying to intimidate us by begging the cops to charge us for illegal parking yet they told us to park there and refused us the room we ordered!!! I They subsequently stole money from our credit card account for an aunauthorised parking fee (when they blocked us in like corporate gangsters) of $100 and charged us twice for staying in the hotel we never stayed in as they refused to provide the room as they appear to have a scamming scheme where they purposely mislead patrons then charge extras upon arrival. We have only been refunded for one of the charges. The RCMP had to stay until we were able to reconnect our trailer to our U-Haul to protect our safety from the corrupt, dishonest, thugs that run this disgraceful shady hotel. Added to the stress of relocating, this experience has been traumatic, distressing and has actually caused a significant amount of inconvenience, loss of sleep, anxiety. I also had to report my credit card as stolen due to the unauthorised charges by this corrupt establishment. They are corporate criminals who have demonstrated a pattern of stealing from people and behaving like mobsters.
