The reason to go here is for the tubing. What a blast. Enter at the fish hatchery (nothing exciting here). Once in the water, the ride is divided in three parts. Part 1 is pretty fast and loads of fun, ends at Puntledge Park where the beach is (on the right). Part 2 is a bit tamer and people who are scared could enter here for a somewhat softer ride. Part 2 ends at Condensory Road (look for an overhead bridge where kids may be jumping). Part 3 is from here to Lewis Park where you exit just before the bridge. This part is painfully slow and may be boring for some. Exit the water on your left before you get to the bridge. If you want to skip this part, just get off at Condensory Road on your right. Have fun!
This gives an interesting insight in the life cycle of the Salmon. During spawning season, you can see a lot of Salmon in their tank - probably the best time to visit (October)
Excellent facility to learn and appreciate the life cycle of salmon.
Fall offers spawning channels and large viewing tanks. Large sign boards explain the process, short walk down to the river and see the salmon coming to the end of their journey.
It was fun to walk around the Hatchery and learn about what they do there. We got to see plenty of fish in the tanks.
Never seen salmons return from the ocean. Super quiet, no one else was here. A small viewing area for dying salmons, and a cool spot to watch the others try jumping up the river. Neat!
Who doesn't love tubing and what a place to do it! It's so incredibly beautiful and the river was at a really nice speed. It has a few fast points which gives everyone that extra thrill.
The river has also a couple of nice spots to go for a swim and sit down for a while.
A must do and see!
