My husband and I stayed here on June 22 and 23 in a corner oceanview King suite with hot tub and two balconies (room 224). Loading our stuff from our car was easy since it was a straight shot from the parking lot to the inside room entry without the need to hoof luggage up and down steps. Aside from the disappointing quality of the breakfast, we had no complaints.

We arrived to stay here again during our return trip home. Our reservation was for the same type of room (oceanview King suite) as the one we stayed in two weeks earlier. This time we were offered a 3rd floor. We are seniors and because of health issues, this arrangement was not acceptable. We were offered a double queen - again not acceptable because of the type of room we had reserved.

We were put into Room 210, an oceanview king suite which is actually located at ground level from the parking lot.

First of all, it's 30 C degrees out, and Campbell River is humid. This hotel has absolutely no air conditioning, which usually doesn't bother us.

However, this room had other issues:

1. Weatherstripping on door is chewed up. I noticed light peeking in from outside.

2. Open bathroom window has no screen.

3. Balcony has no screen.

4. Glass cooktop isn't completely clean; burnt-on food needs to be scraped;

5. Kitchenette overhead light bulbs need replacement; light doesn't turn on.

6. Toilet needs new flapper valve; doesn't always stop running without removing the tank lid and jiggling the chain.

The room we reserved was listed at approximately $350 CAD.

We can do better for this kind of money and we have. You can too.
