Took a full-day tour to see Grizzlies and had an amazing time. Friendly and professional front-end staff, knowledgeable and passionate boat crew made for an unforgettable day.

We were lucky enough to see a few Grizzlies - such a privilege to see them in the wild catching and eating salmon, and Captain John even made time for us to stop and see some humpbacks on the boat ride there!

Lunch provided and hot drinks and snacks were a really nice touch too - thank you to naturalist Ed for looking after us!

Thank you Discovery Marine Safaris, we hope to be back in the future!

Thank you Ashley H, we are thrilled that you had an amazing day out on your Grizzly Bear Expedition. There is nothing quite like seeing Grizzly Bears in the wild is there? it certainly is a privilege to observe their natural behaviour and to watch them catching and eating salmon as they fatten up for the winter months - did you know that they can eat up to 90lbs of food each day! Captain John and Ted are a great team and like all our crew will work hard to ensure that your experience is the best possible. We are all passionate about the Grizzlies and marine wildlife that we are so fortunate to have in our area - and will try to make sure whenever possible that our guests experience the opportunity to quietly observe these beautiful creatures while on one of our tours. Thank you for booking with us, we too hope to welcome you back one day.

We have been whale watching 3 times. This was by far the best experience we've had.

- We saw many, many humpbacks. By the end of the tour you realize you've taken a gazillion photos.

- We had the rare experience of an old humpback 'bubble netting' near our boat, it was really cool.

- There was a cool tide pool rushing in on the way back, made for quite the ride.

- Sadly, there were no Orcas this time :(

Thank you for entrusting us with your 3rd whale watching trip. It was our pleasure having you onboard and we are thrilled to know that you enjoyed your experience. Wow you certainly were extremely lucky to see a humpback bubble net feeding. Our team never get tired of seeing and sharing their knowledge about these incredible majestic giants of the ocean - they are super cool and the more we learn about their different behaviors up and down our coast line the more fascinating they are. It's incredible how many photos you can take in a few hours isn't it? We hope to be able to welcome you back one day and hopefully on your next trip there might be some mammal eating orca in the area.

Yesterday we went on a 3-4 hours whale watching tour with Jeff, our captain and naturalist. He explained all the wildlife we could possibly see during the tour very carefully before we started - this gave us the chance to watch out for the right signs of these beautiful animals on the water surface. It didn’t take long and we could spot steller sea lions - actually a bunch of them - swimming in the water and some up on a couple of rocks having a nap. Beautiful!
Shortly after that we were lucky to see ORCAS!!! what according to locals doesn’t happen that often... great experience and again a great captain who put the ship to the right spots to watch the ocas and at the same time don’t disturb them.
We were already lucky to see these beautiful animals that day, but then the tour headed to another gem for us: two HUMPBACKS! Swimming and diving together. It was just wonderful to watch and even hear them breathe as Jeff turned off the motor of the ship! What an experience! We loved every minute of the tour: great staff with the booking and check-in procedure and a professional captain and guide on the boat!!! Thank you once again!!!

Thank you macarus, for the great review! We appreciate knowing that our guests enjoyed their tour with us and that our dedicated and experienced team contributed to a memorable Whale Watching & Wildlife Safari. We can never guarantee what our guests will see from one day to the next but it certainly sounds like you had some spectacular sightings including being lucky enough to see both Orca and Humpback whales during the tour. We are "whale wise" adhere and support strict viewing guidelines - so thank you for mentioning that our Captains work hard to give our guests the best possible viewing options but that they will never disturb the natural behaviour of the wildlife we are viewing. It was our pleasure having you on board and we hope to welcome you back one day.

Went on a grizzly bear tour. Booked from home. On the day of the tour we were greeted with nice, friendly and service minded people in the small outfit.
The crew was great. The captain and first hand were great and knowledgeable in the area and about the wildlife.
Unfortunately a rare mechanical failure moved our tour to the following day. Discovery Marine safaris did all they could to accommodate all for the next day.
Well done.
But during the night Mother Nature had poured a lot of rain on the mountains and the creeks rose to a water level that hindered the bears getting to banks of the rivers to catch some salmon. So we only saw a few but we did see them.
Great trip. Thanks

Thank you andersweisb. We appreciate your review and your understanding regarding the disruption to your trip last Saturday. In unforeseen circumstances such as yours and your fellow passengers our owners and front office team will always do whatever they can to minimize the disappointment and disruption to your holiday plans. The weather unfortunately is entirely out of our control and working with wildlife in their natural habitat we can never guarantee what will see on our tours. We are extremely relieved, to hear that you did at least see a few of the magnificent Grizzly Bears of Bute Inlet. Thank you again for your understanding and for your kind review. We hope you enjoy the rest of your Canadian adventure and look forward to welcoming you back one day. Safe travels home.

The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and very customer aware in all environments. They showed us grizzly bear in their natural habitat and even found us some whales on our way to and from the grizzly island. I’d recommend the trip for anyone.
