While en route to Cortes Island from Florida, our Dad was hospitalized in Campbell River so we spent several unexpected days in town. When our Mom suggested Banners for lunch, we gave it a try. My husband ordered the special, my daughter ordered a cheeseburger and we got taco salads. The daily special was ok -- BBQ pork in a wrap with fries. My daughter said the cheeseburgers at Wendy's were light years tastier than this one. Taco salad was terrible -- the chicken they give you seems to be warmed up in microwave and it's chewier than raw squid. Endless coffee refills were the best thing going. The ambiance is that of an old retro diner, but in reality, it's just an old diner that desperately needs some love. The aisles are tiny, booths are tiny and uncomfortable and the bathrooms are sad. Give the stellar location of the property, a little invested would reap huge rewards. I'd suggest moving up the street to White Spot.
