They really are trying here, but compared to many bigger Zoo's you won't get nearly the same experience for what you pay. Very little parking too.

We purchased an annual Family Pass last year and have used it 4 times. We like to go there on sunny days for a nice leisurely walk. For us the GV Zoo is more of a park than a traditional zoo. We go there to stretch our legs and get some exercise.

We have yet to purchase our annual passes for this year. We noticed that the prices have gone up. It is now $182.50 per family (2 adults/3 children) for the annual pass and $66.25 per family for a 1x visit.

The bike cart rentals are nice and since they are covered and have seats for the little ones it keeps everyone dry and together if the weather isn't as nice.

Included in your membership you get 1 free train ride per visit. We use this every time we go as our son loves trains! The train ride comes with a tour guide who explains the different enclosures and current happenings at the zoo. It's a decent ride and the timing is good.

If you are expecting the Calgary or San Diego Zoo's you will be sadly disappointed. The Zoo used to be called the game farm and is set up that way (large sectioned off fields and pathways). On the upside there is very little concrete and the environment feels natural.

If you haven't been to the Zoo in awhile you will be pleasantly surprised to find new porta-potties throughout the zoo. This is a nice addition when you have young children with you since you used to have to walk quite a distance to get to a bathroom.

This is the worst Zoo I have ever visited! At the end of my visit I felt very sad for the poor animals that have to live here. This Zoo should be closed.

The animals here are not kept in microscopic cages . They are usually wide open fields with some representation of their natural habitat . The wolf and Bear display is the best . They actually take you inside via atour bus and you do a short tour with a close-up encounter with the animals. the kids will be in awww
