We took the Riviere-du-Loup to Saint Simeon Ferry and it was a great experience. Crossing took 90 minutes and the vistas as you approach the north shore are wonderful. The ferry has space for 100 cars so there is usually lots of room unless there are tour buses. Schedules changes occasionally and it is first-come, first-served, so it is smart to check the sailing times on-line at: http://traverserdl.com/. Cost was $48 for a small SUV + 18/per person. The elderly ship was spotless and there is a nice cafeteria available. Tip: As soon as your vehicle is secured leave the car and go up to the Ticket Office on the main deck to pay the fare and avoid a long line up. Highly recommended.
