The room we got - not much choice as it was drag race weekend and all booked up - was in the "Log Village". Our room was in the log motel with several log cabins of varying size nearby. The room was a good sized double queen with all the amenities you would expect and felt very homey. I like motels like this where we can park the bikes right in front of the door yet the experience is of a good quality. The room had a back door to a small strip of grass and trees overlooking the highway and lake in the distance. The price was just OK and the location was good between downtown and the edge of town. I would stop here again and try the rooms up top next time.

We stopped at the Wawa Motor Inn on our trip around Lake Superior. I was a perfect stop for our group of Motorcyclists. The Bikes could be parked right outside of our rooms, there was a great gazebo on the back lawn to have our 'happy hour', and the on site restaurant was great. The rooms were accessible from the inside as well as from the outside. There was also a great little gas station/ gift shop across the street.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and they recommended the restaurant at the Motor Inn for dinner. As we walked in, we read the "specials" on the board and my mom mentioned to my son that wings were one of the specials that evening. As we walked toward the dining area, there was an older blonde waitress that proceeded to ignore us. I politely asked her if we were to "seat ourselves" and she responded with the "wings are served in the bar as well." I thanked her for the info and stated that we rather sit in the dining area. She muttered under her breath that "there wasn't much room". My family went in and chose one of the several open tables and this waitress proceeded to ignore us! If we weren't already tired from driving over 6 hours, we would've gotten up and went somewhere else. Finally, a very nice waitress named Sarah came over to take a drink order. She apologized for the wait and said they were short staffed that evening. We completely understand that situation, however, for the other waitress to completely ignore us was inappropriate. Sarah was great and took care of our drinks and dinner. The food was good and Sarah was attentive and polite. She was working hard to take care of all of the tables near her while the other lady just changed the table linens.

When we were done, we approached the cash register to take care of our bill. Most of the wait staff were busy, expect for the rude blonde waitress. She saw that we were there waiting and still she wouldn't take care of us! I'd like her to know that we tipped Sarah very well for her outstanding service. Maybe the older blonde waitress would've been nicer to us had she known what great customers we are! Too bad lady, you missed out!

The Wawa Motor Inn is probably the best accommodations we have stayed in, in Wawa, to date. The room was spacious, with a vaulted ceiling, and it was clean. The inn is lots of property to walk the dog, and but the beach is also within walking distance. The breakfast was also a nice surprise. I think the motel is a hidden gem, not 5 star in downtown Toronto, but definitely 5 star in Wawa.

Pros: nice looking, staff were friendly, room was clean although low end in appearance.
The breakfast was average fair for this type of motel. Compared to the looks of the others in town this one looks upscale.

Cons: room was old, cheap in appearance...looked well used (the carpets needed replaced). Basic TV.
