Adam and I just spent a week at NSA as the #WoodsExplorers with WoodsCanada and I have a feeling the comment page will cut off me off before I can say how amazing the entire experience was. When you pass the first set of waterfalls on your right driving into Rock Island Resort - your heart can't help but flutter in anticipation, because you know once you cross that little bridge magic things will happen. We drive through lush trees and you can catch a glimpse of water and beaches on your left and right and it seems like you've entered a peninsula. You pull up to a set of beautiful hand built wooden equipment sheds and rustic wooden lodges and are quickly greeted by smiling faces everywhere and professional friendly staff offering help and warm energy. You walk into the first lodge thinking it's the office and a roomful of people maybe chatting around the community dining table look at you or perhaps it's a family sitting on the couches playing board games and having tea with the view of the Great Lake Superior in the background. Every window views onto a gorgeous rock and sand beach and everyone you will meet will share a heartfelt and amazing story! From staff with decades of experiences as paddlers and teachers to biologists. From photographers to hikers. You will experience Canada in all its glory if you come here. Make sure you go find Dave the leader of the pack and he'll find an amazing guide just for you. Whether it be Jen to take you paddling on the lake or Autumn to give you a tour of the tipi and camp sites. It may be Brian to point you to the best local stops and hikes or Jake who will show you how to paddle board or perhaps Brendan who might take you for a roll in a white water kayak and while you're doing all that let Merinda teach your kids some great outdoor skills in their youth summer camps. Anything you can dream can happen here. And then at the end of the day come in for a glass of wine and a home cooked meal made by Judy and her awesome staff. Thanks NSA for the friendships we made for life and for an awesome week! Melba
