Yes they make organic breads and serve light organic lunches and deserts. However, they served the salads in plastic containers, and the breads were quite dear. Seating outdoors might be quite pleasant.

Unique! They have different kind of bread and some pastries that are a real blast. But you must try theire "dessert cru", (raw). Never taste something like that. The real thing... after a walk in the pittoresque village of Val-David, you stop at La Vagabonde for a coffee and a sweet treat. If you are really hungry, get the soup and sandwich first, your body will thank you and your mind will pray you to come back.

Thank Eric B

We were on holiday in the Laurentians for nearly two weeks and luckily our host told us about "La Vagabonde" in Val David. We loved everything about this bakery (and went there nearly every day, despite the 20 min. drive :)!!): first of all their breads and pastries are unique. Having lived in France and Germany for most of my life I do know what great baguette and bread taste like - "Le Vagabonde" is right up there with the very best. All their products are organic and produced with as little mechanic help as possible - and yes, you do taste that. The scrolls, chocolate croissants and turnovers are out of this world, simply delicious!! Also they have a lovely seating area, inside and out, very cozy. The staff is super nice and all speak English (unfortunately our French isn't very good ...). Breakfast, Lunch, afternoon tea - anytime you go they have something incredibly yummy waiting for you. Free wifi and easy parking. Unfortunately it's a little difficult to find - driving from Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts towards Val David turn off Route 117 into Rue de l'Église. Turn into the third road on your right, Chemin de la Riviere. Continue a little further on and you'll see their sign "Boulangerie La Vagabonde" on your right; continue into their driveway.
On Saturday try to go early, they are very busy and favourite items might be sold out early. They're open every day from 8am to 6pm. Their website: http://boulangerielavagabonde.com/
I miss this little bakery, their baguettes and chocolate croissants a lot, they're superb!
