My husband and I spent four nights at this nice lodge overlooking Radium. Here we found peace and quiet with an awesome view of the mountains. Our room was spacious and clean with a balcony off the living room looking out over Radium and the mountains.Breakfast came with the room and was served in the restaurant which was located on the bottom level of the lodge. The restaurant was open for dinner every evening from 5pm to 9pm.You could eat inside or outside on the balcony. We enjoyed our dining experiences and tried some great Hungarian dishes. We appreciated the hospitality of the hosts Stephen and Edith. They were very accommadating .We enjoyed our stay here and would encourage you check this place out for yourself.

CHecked into the hotel earlier than we thought (12 instead of 2) and there was no reception or no one to answer our numerous door bells. It was33 C and a baby and dog in the car so not very practical to leave either in. Decided to spend time at the hot pools and got back. Met cook and spoke no English. Finally owbers arrived from their shopping trip and did not really greet or acknowledge so went and asked for a key-had to pay money upfront which was strange. Rooms are very old and dated but view was fantastic. Has AC in room. Liked the room dividers as they wroked great for us. LArge space. CArpets seemd old and dirty though they were properly cleaned.
HAd read reviews prior to booking. for 124/night with breakfast. Breaksfast was meagre no yogurt and not much choice. Oddly they charged 5/night for my 14 month old baby which was dissapointing. Will i stay there again? NO. Owner finally warmed up. Seemed like a busy hangout though..For what? price maybe? Didnt really add value to my trip.

Hello fellow travellers!

We appreciate the travel advice and wisdom fellow reviewers, and want to give back.

We just returned from a stay and supper at Rocky Mountain Springs Lodge and Restaurant.

Room- just fine. European type of bed and bedding. Mini-fridge and microwave is handy in the front room area. TV and channels are fine. Cleanliness is very acceptable. Yes, the bathroom is old style, and you really feel you are in a motel. There is a futon in the front room, and you could sleep 2 more people there (so 4 people total in the motel room- which is really a bedroom not totally closed off, with a front room, and then a nice balcony looking over the lovely mountains- very Switzerland - like (we've been there).

Price- low-season (till mid-June) means we paid around $100 (inclusive of taxes, room cost, breakfast--> toast./jam/coffee eggs). Fine by us!

Supper- we paid about $50 for 2 wienerschnitzel meals and pop.

Hosts- are a humble and hard-working Hungarian family (we think there are 2 couples working at the place) who are trying to make a difference. The gentleman/owner basically did not intrude on our dinner (although to be honest, we would have LOVED to chat with him). He did speak with the couple who ate inside (perhaps they are local). Be prepared for humble and unintrusive service.

**This hotel is open during the spring, summer and fall- not winter. High season starts mid-June, and is more money).

Location- we turned and drove up the hill when we came to the woodcarving place (you cannot miss it). The turn is across from the Saltzburg Restaurant (another excellent restaurant, by the way- we've eaten there many times).

It costs money to travel, and we felt we got our money's worth from our stay at this nice motel.

Happy travels, fellow Trip Advisor friends!!

My boyfriend and I decided to get away for a quick weekend in the mountains and based our selection on the reviews seen on trip advisor.

Even looking past the dated building, and well past prime mattress, we discovered the walls are paper thin. I was treated to a night long conversation from the family next door. They weren't speaking loudly or partying, just regular conversation so it wasn't appropriate to disturb them. We likely slept 2 or 3 hours total and it definitely was not condusive to a romantic evening.

I was then looking forward to the breakfast as I'd heard the crepes were great, and again I was disappointed. The person serving us all but ignored us and then my crepes only had jam for filling and the crepe itself was rubbery. I was hoping for some fresh fruit at the very least.

Definitely well below my expectations. I'll choose the neighbouring Chalet Europe the next time we're in Radium.

Found this hotel on Trip Advisor and for the most part was really satisfied. The only issue we had was that our first night was spent in a room with two double beds posing as a queen. Once I spoke to the Hungarian (?) lady innkeeper, and indicated that two doubles don't equal a queen, the situation was corrected. The rooms were clean. Oh, the view from the second level is better so get a room up there if you can.

The food was great, breakfast and dinner, and the view is awesome. We went for the Springs but used the spa at the Springs as well. This hotel would make reservations at the spa for you. Also, this hotel is not the main road but up the side of a mountain (not too far up) so walking to and from the hotel to the main drag or to the Springs may not be an option for some.

We found that besides the Springs there was not much to do in Radium so on the advice of our massage therapists we went to Invermere and a restaurant called the Black Forest which was great also (http://www.blackforestrestaurant.com/). We also went to Panorama- beautiful drive. Near the Black Forest, there's a fruit stand (small building) that had the biggest blackberries we'd ever seen and the best milk we'd ever tasted. A must if you're into fresh fruit and the like.

Anyway, if you don't want to stay at Rocky Mountain Springs Lodge, make sure to go for dinner there on a nice night. Again, the food is great and the view from the large balcony is beautiful.

A good spot to stop on our road trip and price determined our stay here. The moment we drove up the road to the hotel I knew I had made a mistake. It is next to a lovely looking inn, and this place is the opposite. There is not enough parking for the hotel and the restaurant combined so some have to park out on the street. There is garbage and a general unkempt look before you even check in. The "million dollar view" is overstated, but as someone else said, it looks like anytime the balcony will be falling off - oh and don't look down, you will see the collection of food scraps, and more garbage from the spaces below and the restaurant. The room is very dated - but clean. The bed is isolated by a wall, so no view and no tv to be seen from the bed. The sliding glass door did not lock and I had a hard time locking the bathroom window as well. The included breakfast is served in the quiet , cold restaurant - and the omelet/ scambled eggs were all egg white and greasy - with this you get cold white toast - hmm... I tolerated this place as we were moving on in the am, otherwise I never would have stayed another night and cannot in anyway recommend this place, you'd be better off camping.

  • Liked — Have to say it was clean
  • Disliked — Unsafe - cords everywhere, no lock on slider, dated.

This place is a bit different: really a combination of a classic B&B in the building of a motel. Sitting area, fridge and microwave all included.
It looks dated, but very clean and not expensive.
Hungarian restaurant on the premises makes for a different meal on your tour. Try the Hungarian specialties (eg Duck).
