I've been to this museum many times over the years, but with every visit there is always a new experience. The main room with the native exhibit is breathtaking. Not only are the displays great, but the views overlooking the water and parliament are some of the nicest in Ottawa.
The focus this trip was more around the kids activities with our 3-year old daughter. She LOVED the children's museum (free with admission) so we spent the most time there. The displays were highly interactive, but there were also lots of staff running special activities such as beading. There was also a craft room where kids got to make mini clay snowmen so lots of fun things to see, do and take home with you after the day.
The parking garage under the museum is a little bizarre. It's very hard to park your car as their are structural poles in the middle of most spots. Along with it's all angled parking. It's not the end of the world, but really doesn't feel like a good use of space. I saw lots of people frustrated trying to get in and out of spots. Parking was $12 for the entire day.
