We booked this hotel based on a bit of research I did. And it paid. It turned out to be a nice hotel overall. Located right on Crowsnest Highway at the centre of the town, it has a unique look inside. Surrounded by the rooms, it has a well decorated lobby and a swimming pool inside the building. There is a glass wall elevator that offers a nice view when one is going up or down.
With friendly front desk staff, check in was hassle-free. The room we stayed in was pretty nice with a huge balcony lined with flower pots. This hotel has a bistro and an attached pub. We visited the pub for drinks and dinner in the evening and enjoyed our time and food. The next morning we went to the bistro for breakfast. There were several breakfast menus to choose from. I enjoyed the “Traditional Two Eggs” breakfast that was served with bacon. My wife ordered “Avocado Toast & Eggs” which she didn’t like much though.
However, there were two things we didn’t like, which adversely affected our impression. A substantial part of the leather like black covering on one arm of the chair was eroded off (apparently from rubbing) exposing the while material underneath. And there was a long black scratch-like mark on the washbasin. These are not expected in such an otherwise nice hotel.
