We booked to stay the night not expecting much on a voyage to Cape Breton. WOW were we ever impressed! Accommodations were immaculate and beautifully furnished with antiques. Our first meal/experience was so good we went out of our way to stop over for another night on our return trip. We were impressed that value for dollar is there in spades. Both Jeremy and the waitress were as professional as any server in a five star restaurant in either downtown Montreal or Toronto. The Chef deserves a bow and curtsey. Every appetizer and entree prepared to perfection using ingredients indigenous to the region. The fiddle head soup is awesome and the seafood chowder was better then any restaurant we have tried in Nova Scotia. The deserts were the bomb though. Neither my partner or I usually have desert, but once we tried one we tried them all, just delicious. We won't spoil your visit by suggesting any menu items, but we recommend you try this treasure of New Brunswick.

I feel remiss in having not previously reviewed the Auberge Les Jardins RESTAURANT (we have not stayed at the associated Inn and Motel), having eaten here 2-4x/year for over 11 years, but this has undoubtedly been the finest dining in the area for alll that time. The presentation, quality of food, service, and ambience (always there is a friendly greeting at the door) are all superb, and compare favorably to Quebec City's best. This trip I tried the wild game casoulet - beautifully spiced and delicious - while my wife had a seafood plate with salmon, shrimp, scallops, and a lobster bisque - excellent. There are plenty of choices on the menu, with entre prices running $22-40, and Table de Hote $30-40. The most extensive wine selectiion in Northern NB is a plus. For a special night of dining out, this is easily our choice. In the summer, a plus is the location - across the street from the NB Botanical Garden, which is always worth a visit.

Jeremy makes a good vodka martini. He's very personable and knowledgeable. We tried the local soup made from the furled fern fronds, called fiddleheads, of the Ostrich fern. It was quite good and mild, kind of like asparagus. The dinner was quite good and the atmosphere pleasant. The Inn is pretty much a motel, but the restaurant a pleasant surprise.

Had a quick stop in Edmundston and decided to have dinner at the Auberge. We called ahead to reserve our table. We were warmly greeted at the door and instantly felt at home. Our server Jeremy was very informative with questions we had with the menu and we decided to go with his suggestions. I had the Auberge steak, and my wife had the stuffed pork loin.... The best EVER!!
We definitely will be back and definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone. A+++
