We stayed at the Rum Runner for a total of four days in July of 2022, and totally enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, great views of the bay, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, clean, great location, and very friendly staff. Tim, the owner, and Alison, his assistant couldn't do any more for you, they gave you quality time and answered any imaginable question that you might have regarding the area. Great place to relax, enjoy the scenery and meet wonderful people from all over.

Room tip: There is no "bad" room at this Inn.

stayed over for one night on 28 June 2022. Spotlessly clean accommodation with a great view over the bay, from our partially enclosed balcony.
Bed was large and very comfortable, with the only problem being the noisy air conditioning fan that refused to be turned off.
Bathroom was of adequate size to cater for shower, basin and toilet.
A good ground coffee machine in the room but with only coffee mate for whitening.
Didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on quality.
Hotelier Tim, was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and seemed to like to go out of his way to accommodate ones needs. even looking after our overnight bag while we toured the town the following day, until our departure from Lunenburg.

Room tip: Ensure the air conditioning fan can be turned off at night

If you’re looking for an historical experience, right in the heart of downtown Lunenburg, the Rum Runner is an excellent choice. The rooms are bright & decor is modern but the inn is reminiscent of the sea faring character of days gone by. Several rooms have lovely harbor views plus there’s a community balcony for everyone to enjoy. Located just across the street from the Bluenose & steps away from restaurants & shops in the downtown, it’s very close to all the amenities of the town.

The restaurant that used to operate within the inn is no longer open. During our stay in July 2022, there were several restaurants in transition & undergoing repairs but there were still many great options for both indoor & patio dining. Peak time is early afternoon until about 5 if the Bluenose is docked & running tours. Many restaurants close at 7.

We loved our stay at the Rum Runner

The inn is an old property but has everything you need for a short stay in Lunenburg. Big comfy bed, nice ensuite, good linens and towels. We had a room in the next door building with a kitchenette and balcony with a sea view. The manager was super friendly and helpful on our arrival.

The hospitality was above and beyond, made the trip one of a kind for us and wish we could go back to this amazing town again. The room was clean with eliminated mirror really was a good detail that was added. Outstanding staff was the major point though, best advise to go around in the area. Free ice was also provided to take on road trip. Some places the host introduced and we found great too: Number 9 bakery, La Have ferry was a great experience and was free, La Have bakery was awesome, had my best chicken panini there!

Room tip: Very close to the best view of waterfront, rooms are facing street, which is also beautiful and facing the amazing waterfront
