Description: The Country Corner is a small locally owned and operated Cafe and Gift Shop catering to tourists and locals alike. We serve a limited local cuisine featuring local fish and vegetables. Our famous Blueberry Crisp boasts local wild blueberries that are very high in antioxidants. Our cod chowder features fresh codfish from our cold Atlantic waters. All our soups, chowders and sandwich meats are cooked daily in our kitchen ie: oven roasted turkey and pressure cooked beef and ham. We cater to Celiac and Gluten Free diet by blending our own flours to make the bread for our sandwiches and baked desserts served in our cafe. We will bake fresh for takeout on request with 24 hours notice. Visit us and find out how good real food tastes.

Travelled here with friends who insisted on the blueberry crisp. It certainly did not disappoint! Rich and delicious. A nice stop for a cup of tea before or after a hike atound the area. Moose stew was worth a try and enjoyable. Selection of beer available too.

We popped in for a cup of tea. The tea came in pots of barely Luke warm water which was only reluctantly replaced with boiling water by our server! When I went to pay another server thought that I wanted more tea! The whole experience was surreal. A good point was the very fast Wifi.

My family and I visited Brigus on a beautiful afternoon. There were six of us in total, including 2 one and a half year olds. The restaurant is cute, with a gift shop, ice cream bar and restaurant.

We asked for two high chairs and they were in pretty rough shape. The straps didn't work in one, and the other was missing a tray. When I asked about the tray the server argued with me that it was on the high chair, which it wasn't.

There were about half a dozen various people working there, however there was only one server working the restaurant, which wasn't busy. The rest were out in the ice cream area folding napkins, chatting and laughing.

I had the blueberry crisp, which was delicious and I would go back for that dish alone!

We ate at The Country Corner twice while visiting Newfoundland. Both times the food was excellent. Reminiscent of food you would be served at home. Service was welcoming and friendly. Lots of locals (always a good sign). Highlights included the seafood food chowder, turkey sandwiches made with actual pieces of turkey and the absolute highlight was dessert in the form of blueberry crisp.
