We recently stayed at this BNB for an anniversary. It had just opened the previous month so we were hoping this place would live up to its website advertisement as we had nothing else to go on. We needn't have worried. Owners Ed and Linda delivered. They have taken two old once beautiful houses and painstakingly restored them to their original splendor. They are to be congratulated. These houses were originally built in the 1860's by the British to house management staff that operated their newly opened transatlantic cable station at Heart's Content.
Ed and Linda look to have spared no expense or effort to rebuild and redecorate these houses. The grounds are beautiful as well. As was the full breakfast with homemade bread and jams, eggs, sausages, etc and all the tea you can drink all served on beautiful china. Ed and Linda were great hosts and only too willing to talk about the history of their restored home. They have many stories to tell.
This BNB is a great place to stop if you're touring the Baccalieu Trail as there is not much in the way of accommodations on the west side of the peninsula. Would highly recommend staying here. We're glad we did!
