We had one of the cabins which had 2 rooms and a partial kitchen (no stove). The owner is very friendly and nice, and ensured she passed along messages to us which she had received from friends staying elsewhere. The cabins were very cute and clean but quite tiny; there is little room to move around, particularly in the bedrooms. The cabins are fairly close to stores and to Windmill Bite Park. We were disappointed that the firepits were so far away from the cabins. Promised wi-fi internet, but this did not work unless you were at the main office.

We stayed at this inn because it advertised that it had a restaurant. When we checked in we discovered that it had closed, and there is no other restaurant in Lumsden. Beyond this the rooms are clean, spaceous, and quiet, and the owner hospitable. You also have access to the kitchen in the evening for coffee etc. With a restaurant we would return again.

Barbour's Country Inn tends to bill itself as a B&B. The rooms feel like a nice wooden mountain chalet. The rooms are huge. Unfortunately this also contributes to its downfall experienced in staying there for a night.

A feature of each room is a TV. The TV is at the opposite end of the large room. To hear the TV, you need to turn up the volume. The TV is against the wall where onhttps://tonic.tripadvisor.com/SavedPhotos-i26316135%2C26316138%2C26316140%2C26316142-w1#26316135 the other side
is the head of the next room's bed. If you are sensitive to TV noise, like me, it will not be a happy stay if you have a TV watcher in the next room. My suggestion to the establishment is to remove the TVs from each room as there is a large TV in the common room.

There is a kitchen area but breakfast is a coupon for the restaurant next door. Free wireless internet access is available.

I would rate this place higher if it were not for the TV noise issue.
