We stayed with three small children (3, 5 & 6 years old) the house felt safe and we were able to let them have he run of the whole place. The stairs are not steep and easy for little ones to manage. Lovely vase of flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for us. The property manager (Maggy) was friendly and helpful and even popped around the day after we arrived to see if we needed anything.
The large hall has underfloor heating and a large fire. The floor heating make it very comfortable and its a wonderful space to relax. The house has excellent light and every room has a wonderful view of surrounding countryside. Despite being close to the road the garden is enclosed quiet and safe. The only criticism I could think of was the upstairs was a little dusty on the floor (all wooden).
It is a two minute drive to St Davids and a few minutes more to 'White sands' beach (recommended, whatever the weather). The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked several large family meals with no problems.
The house feels secluded and restful, finished to a high standard. It has obviously been a home created with passion, and has so many interesting details and features. We enjoyed the log burning stove in the smaller second living room and the large roaring wood fire in the great hall. The kids were convinced they were staying in a castle. We would definitely consider another family holiday here, or even a romantic get away.
