This is a small and unassuming, family-run restaurant in West Vancouver, but it's one of Vancouver's best kept secrets. The food here is authentic, with generous portions prepared with care and the freshest ingredients, all at reasonable prices. The salt water Nanjing duck is one of the best I've had, along with other great dishes in its repertoire.

Tucked away on Clyde Avenue is a truly authentic taste of China experience. The menu is extremely extensive and offers REAL Chinese food, and not the usual North American type which is usually greasy and highly caloric. Shanghai Village offers fresh flavours and unusual combinations of ingredients which make for a delicious and authentic Chinese taste experience. There is limited alcoholic choices but white and red wine is available along with the traditional Tsingtao Beer. The staff are of Chinese origin and English is not readily spoken except for the very young servers. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Second visit here with a group of 6. Excellent food, quickly served, huge servings. The whole duck was superb, the Kung Po chicken was perfectly spiced, overall 10 different dishes, and not one that would not be chosen again.

My colleague took me here for lunch after i commended her referring another chinese restaurant which just across the road.

For starters we had the lotus pork soup then followed by spicy shrimps served on a heated container. Then we ordered more like rice cakes and spicy pork - whew it was good but I couldn't eat a big meal though.

We went to this restaurant with friends who had been there with Asian friends a number of times. Three Spicy Chicken was to die for! The Spicy Garlic Green Beans were perfect - spicy but not over the top. The only dish I could have passed on was the steamed shrimp and scallop dish. Perfectly cooked but overpriced for the size of the plate. I'll be back here many time sin the future!
