No doubt that Martine is the Director of Awesomeness! Seeing Nunavut without Inukpak Outfitting's services would be a major mistake. As a professional planner and escort for international educational field trips, I found that Inukpak Outfitting is exactly the kind of business that wrings the maximum value out of your visit--whatever the length of your stay and in spite of whatever you forget to bring! From incredible insights about Inuit culture to exploring Nunavut, Louis-Philip and Martine have everything covered in The North. I will definitely come back to see them for both work trips and family vacations.
Thank you very much for this great tribute!! We are ready to try and surpass ourselves for your next visit!!
We had a fabulous experience with Inukpak. They are knowledgeable, funny, patient, very accommodating. Gabriel took us sledding and he has a great relationship with the dogs - truly amazing animals, you'll want to plan for time to pat/visit with them after the ride.
We had a true arctic experience - warm and not windy on the way out and a light surface blizzard on the way back. Gabriel had great stories about the region. It is worth coming to Iqaluit just to get outside with Inukpak - they love and respect the outdoors and have the gear and knowledge to make it easy and extremely enjoyable for anyone who lives south of 60.
Thank you very much for the nice review!!! We are happy your True Arctic Experience was all you expected and more. Come visit again!!
My wife and I had a trip on a sled pulled by 9 dogs, with a very knowledgeable guide. The trip lasted from 8 am to past noon. We started at the outfitter's place in Apex, a suburb of Iqaluit. They made sure we were warmly dressed -- they supplied boots, pants, mittens, etc (my coat was warm enough and I had a balaclava). Then we went to get to the dogs and sled at the outfitter's place on the ice in downtown Iqaluit (about 10 minutes away). It was fairly cold (minus 15 Celsius) and windy (30-50 km/h winds), but we were OK. The trip was fantastic.
Thank you!!! The experience couldn't be possible without making sure you are comfortable and warm!!
We went dogsledding with Fernando and Benoit and couldn't have asked for better guides. Engaged, informed, interested in teaching us about anything related to our out trip (and we were quite inquisitive). Fascinating to learn about the Inuit ways of life, the life of the sled dogs, the history of the area and much more. These guys were born to be guides up in the north (even though they've been across Siberia, guided in Africa and been all over the world).
Thank you for your nice words!! We also think our guides are fantastic!!!
Very knowledgeable guide, took us way out on the sea ice in the bay, then up into the high hills behind the city. Just beautiful! A once in a lifetime adventure... and we were toasty warm in the gear they loaned us. Highly recommend!
Thank you! Our guides are knowledge nerds!! But it could be more than once in a lifetime!!!!
My friend surprised my with a dog sledding adventure! We were able to meet all the sled dogs, help our guide harness them for the ride, and then we were off! Our guide, Fernando, was super fun and he clearly loved his dogs. The scenery was beautiful and the overall experience was surreal.
You have an awesome friend!! We also can't get enough of the scenery!! We are glad you enjoyed!
