Owner description: The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

The Lighthouse Loop is great, but the rest of the trail, from Big Beach to the Hiway, also has spectacular features, including the Artists' Loops.

The thoughtful and innovative people behind this project are to be commended. I don't know of anywhere else that provide such a awesome wilderness meets the sea experience. Don't miss it!!!

Great hike, but lots of ups and downs, so may not be appropriate for the elderly.

I've been around the lighthouse loop countless times and it is never the same. Last week we went from 5 storey waves crashing against the rocks to quiet, gentle swells where we could see the migrating whales spray in the distance. The Brown's beach to bike path section is also spectacular. The paths are amazingly maintained for the harsh weather they receive and there are just enough elevation changes to make it a good walk if you want to push. We always stay in Ukee now when we go to the west coast to have this trail in our backyard.

We have now hiked all of the sections of the Wild Pacific Trail. I can hardly find adjectives to do it justice! The scenery is unbeatable and the trail is well maintained. It is a jewel on Vancouver Island and not to be missed if you are physically able to do a moderate hike!
