We stayed in waterfront cottage # 265 for a few days starting Mar. 25th., 2012. We just loved it . The water view is beautiful! We loved the hottub & the jacuzzi bath, & it was also nice having our own BBQ. We really appreciated the privacy, also. We found the cottage very clean & well equiped, & we will definitely come back. Cassandra, at the office, was very friendly, & very helpful.

Room Tip: Waterfront cottages are very private, with beautiful views.

Even in the rain, Ucluelet is beautiful. Had a lovely walk around the lighthouse trail, then to my studio cabin for a jaccuzi tub and a quiet afternoon reading. The woman who checked me in was extremely friendly, helpful and full of knowledge about the area. As I brought my dog with me, they had left me a 'doggie' towl and treats which were quickly gobbled up.

We stayed at Reef Point this past weekend and were impressed with the customer service, cleanliness, and layouts of our cottage (#271). We arrived to Ucluelet a bit early and were able to get into our cottage before the check-in time, which was much appreciated!

Our cottage had a fantastically equipped kitchen (everything from a wine opener to egg poachers to mixing bowls! Plus a full size stove & oven, apartment size fridge, and a dishwasher!). The main level contained the stainless steel kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, a dining area with seats for 6, a comfortable living room with a fold-out sofa bed. The living room opened onto a large deck with the hot tub, a patio table for 6, and a peek-a-boo view of the Sound. We were thrilled to be able to hear the sea lions “barking” in the distance at night from the back decks…just a reminder that we were on the wild west coast!

The upstairs had a Queen size bedroom with a balcony overlooking the sound and a nice view of the open ocean in the distance. Also, upstairs was a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom had a King bed that looked like it could be made into twin beds if required. The cabin was also equipped with a large BBQ but we did not have an opportunity to use it.

Our cottage was very clean inside and smelled like a wood cabin should. We had several very large towels which were nice for getting to and from the hot tub. The kitchen and bathrooms were immaculate and the bedding was obviously fresh. We couldn’t find a speck of dust or dirt anywhere inside the cottage! Keeping in mind that it is near the ocean and during storm season we could easily forgive and forget the evidence of birds and trees on the decks 

We did run out of towels due to the amount of hot tub usage as well as a small bathtub overflow. But we called the front desk and Kathleen, the manager, came with a hamper full of clean towels within 10 minutes. We had a chance to talk to her for a bit and were impressed by her plans to bring more local products into the cottages as well as the plans of continued maintenance around the resort. She was very approachable and open to comments and suggestions to improve Reef Point Cottages.

The cottages are located within walking distance to the Wild Pacific Trail…which I would highly recommend! We did ½ of the forest walk to get to a view point and watch the sunset. On our second day, after checkout, we did the lighthouse coast walk and were amazed at the beauty of the coast!

Overall, I think that Reef Point Cottages was a great place to stay and we look forward to going back again…we were sad to leave our little “home”.

PS- We enjoyed a great meal at Frankie’s Driftwood Patio Restaurant…the food was AMAZING…I’ll put a review up for that as well!

We have stayed at Reef Point Cottages numerous times and have 2 trips there planned for this year, including one in the next couple of weeks. The cottages are very cozy, and it is especially rewarding to sit in the hot tub after a long day of walking the trails and beaches looking out at the water. We would highly recommend that new visitors to Ucluelet stay at the Reef Point Cottages - you won't be disappointed with the combination of value and charm. There are plenty of excellent walking trails and beaches so close that there is no need to even get in the car to see them - out favourite is the Wild Pacific Trail starting at the lighthouse. Reef Point here we come!

Room Tip: We recommend a waterfront cabin with hot tub on the deck - so nice to see both the water and the for...

We were looking for a comfortable west coast get-away for both our Berner-Collie Kej and ourselves. The studio cottage met or exceeded all of our expectations. It had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. The rear deck provided a secure area for Kej when we wanted him out of our way. Reef Point Cottages are just off the main road south of the Ucluelet town centre. Check-in only took a moment with a very courteous young lady at the desk. Our cottage had full amenities including a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. It was clean and comfortable. The TV offered a wide selection of channels. A network of trails and sidewalks made for interesting walks with Kej. We sat on a bench on the other side of the road and watched a couple of amazing west coast ocean sun-sets.The Co-op store just up the road had all the groceries we needed for our stay. The Tourist Info Office in Ucluelet suggested we visit the stream by the nearby fish hatchery for a chance of seeing some bears. What an experience! We got pictures of a mother bear with her cub catching a 15 pound salmon about 20' below us. Another day was spent at Long Beach. Kej loved the surf and surfers. We very much enjoyed the wild ocean and crashing waves on our walks from the cottage. Wireless internet would have been nice. But there were so many positives - why worry! We certainly look forward to staying there again.

Room Tip: Cottages overlooking the inlet are quieter than those towards the main road. If you have a pet ask f...

It was great to be in Ucluelet but I don't recommend Reef Point. Some of these cottages are very shoddily built and we ended up needing to move cabins 3 times. The maintenance is quite poor. The toilets are prone to overflowing and when they do the water shoots straight down into the living room! The bathtubs were so scummy we had to buy something to clean them out ourselves... in all 3 cabins. The BBQ's are in extremely rough shape and are rusted and look like they've never been cleaned.
The cottages are in a beautiful location with easy access to the Wild Pacific trail.
At the end of our stay we checked out a few minutes late and the receptionist had the nerve to chastise us about it after everything that had happened!
I am thankful that we got an extremely cheap deal otherwise this would have been a real burn!
