Really nice hotel, friendly reception staff, spacious rooms, nice pool, this is a larger hotel 600 plus rooms. it as a lot of charm, the reception staff are friendly and accommodating. however the cleaning staff are another story!!!. we stayed here for 7 days from sept 25th 2017 to Oct 2 2017. the cleaning staff were very lazy and did not clean, they made our beds daily and put clean towels in however they did not clean bathroom, vacuum, wash down tables from spills or remove garbage's. Did not leave clean cups or glasses or refill shampoos or soap, left clean towel folded on floor of wet shower stall?? knocked on door even with do not disturb sign on door. Did not communicate well in Dutch or English (didn't understand either language) and were kind of rude. Keep in mind this is not a cheap hotel and is classified as a 4+ hotel so I expected that they would at least clean the bathroom or clean up spills on the tables. I didn't expect clean sheets or vacuuming daily but they only did that once not 4+ service at all. We left good tips for the first 3 days but stopped after that as they did not do a good job at all. this hotel has a huge parking lot but extremely hard to find parking as they do park and fly and it is easily accessible to airport. also the meals we great but very pricey and room service prices changed for same thing ordered daily???. got a bit of a surprise upon checkout when the said I had a bill for 29 euro! said it was for city tax but that was already paid, then they said it was for room service and I explained we paid with cash and credit card, so then they told me oh it was for room service calls!!! really what hotel charges you for room service calls?? after I questioned the charges they said oh sorry it was a fault on their computer system and decided not to try and scam me for the calls. My advice is go down and order your food and bring it up yourself as room service is quit a bit more than the same item in the restaurant . and pay attention to you bill. if they can scam you they will!!! I did really like this hotel , I would recommend it and I would return but I would defiantly pay attention to all my expenses. all in all I would return but I will be cautious next time.

Room Tip: Be cautious of your checkout Bill.

The airline cancelled our flight due to high winds in Amsterdam, so they put us up at the Van der Valk A4 Hotel. We have stayed at Van der Valk hotels in the past and so far we have enjoyed all of them, and this one was no exception. A shuttle picked us up at the airport and dropped us at the door. The lobby area is huge and nicely set up with comfortable seating. Just off the lobby is the restaurant. The breakfast buffet which came with our room compliments of the airline, had loads of choices and everything was delicious. There are places to shop inside the lobby as well as a large wine bar.

Our room was immaculate and spacious with a large patio facing the parking lot. The weather was hideous so we could not enjoy it, but on a nice day it would be great. The bathroom was big with a deep jetted tub as well as a separate shower. We each received a little welcome bag full of useful items in case you forgot to pack them. Bathroom amenities were also very nice.

This hotel was a little farther from the airport than we would normally choose but worth the drive. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Next time you're in Amsterdam, try a Van der Valk Hotel.

Large but efficiënt hotel. Great front office staff. Large updated rooms with comfy beds. No noise except some plane noise when the flightpath near the hotel is used. Large carpark where you can park your max 31 days. Hotel shuttle (large touring car)every 40 min to and from the hotel. Can be busy during rush hour but ive never seen people left behind. Restaurant serves a good large breakfast buffet. Dinermenu has lots of choices for every taste.

Room Tip: luxury standard rooms are near reception.

We travel a lot between The Netherlands and the USA and most times we stay at this VanDer Valk hotel the night before we fly home.
We like the spacious rooms, the friendly bars and the good restaurant.
We highly recommend to stay in his hotel which is only a couple of miles from the airport

Stayed one night as flying out of Schipol the next day. Found the free bus easy to find outside the airport. Found the room to be comfortable and quite a large room. The bar had been updated since our stay last year. Ate at the restaurant and found the food both at dinner and breakfast to be of good quality. Prices at the bar and restaurant were reasonable. Will certainly stay again next year.

Friendly staff; love the pub- had generous servings. Good fishnchips! Had room 850-
it was Decent sized with large bathroom, balcony and comfy beds. i Like the two twins pushed together, makes for a good nite sleep. Our bathroom had a large tub and a separate shower. Good wifi! Shuttle bus runs efficiently every 40 mins. This is a large facility- be prepared for a trek to your room, or ask for a closer one if needed.
Only negative was the ac did not cool the room down to our liking.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are quiet. Hotel is large- most rooms require a rather long walk

Booked a night here on a layover. This hotel is a 15 min drive from the airport, but has absolutely nothing around it! So as long as you have no intentions of leaving, can be ok. There is a KFC and a casino and that's it! Stuck eating at their crappy, overpriced restaurant or paying a hefty cab fare to get into Amsterdam or spending an hour minimum with public transportation. When we drove up to the hotel, my friends and I thought we were at the wrong place. Outside is a dated, mildew covered dump. I forgot to take a picture during the daylight hours unfortunately. Got inside and sure enough, sadly, we were at the right hotel. Decor was off the wall. Plastic cows and animals sitting on top of a random boxed in room that you get to stare at every time you ride in their glass elevator, just for an example. The hotel is going through a renovation apparently. The renovated areas are interesting to say the least. It's new, but have some random decor choices. Like carpet in the gym that is in the pattern of wood flooring. Who puts carpet in a gym?! People sweat on that! Gross. The walls are also of a wood flooring pattern. Furniture oddly placed. It's like they bought up random, left over crap no one else wanted to buy and used it to renovate the place. The non renovated part of the hotel is pretty dated. Flickering light in the hall. Dark hallways with brick walls. Room was incredibly dated as well and had one outlet in the room. Little tricky when there were 3 of us to share a triple room... every picture we saw on the website showed these beautiful, bright rooms. Again, we wondered if we had screwed up the reservation. But turns out they just like to show the renovated parts of the hotel off and not make it clear when making the reservation what you are getting. I inquired at the front desk, partly to see if there was indeed a different part of the hotel and we were at the right place. We still were in disbelief that this was the same place we made a reservation at since it looked NOTHING like the photos. I was very rudely informed that next time I need to pay more and get a "deluxe" room if I wanted a nicer room. Then don't false advertise! And when booking the room, put the correct corresponding picture of an accurate representation of the room you are booking in the little picture box on the booking page rather than a stock photo of a completely different style and type of room! Restaurant was overpriced with bad food and bad service. I would tell anyone to book at one of the many other options that are available in the same price point. Only good thing I can say is that it was very clean on the inside.
