Clisson is simply gorgeous. Situated at the confluence of two stunning rivers, with graceful ancient stone bridges spanning each of them, joining the town. Do not miss this place. Why isn’t it in that book of the most beautiful villages of France?

We visited recently on an excursion from a cruise on the River Loire. We were very taken with this little town with its steep streets and Italianate influences. The castle, les halles and the church are all worth a visit. See separate reviews.

Great town to visit and where surprised that it looked very Italian, then discovered that an Italian had designed many of the buildings. A real gem and not far from Nantes, would highly recommend a visit.

This small town is so cute and romantic. I have the pleasure of going here for work every year, and a stroll through town is a must. I have recommended some great restaurants if you look at my profile

A beautiful little village, with a lot of charm. Quite quick to visit the center. Don't forget to combine with the castle and a meal - plenty of nice restaurants; also some nice shops.

Clisson is a beautiful, historical town with plenty to see and do. Our primary visit was to go to the local metal music festival Hellfest. If you are into serious metal then this is highly recommended. Well organised, wall to wall rock and punk music for all tastes, as well as a fine choice of food.

With Nantes only 40 minutes away with easy access by train, there's no reason not to go!

Nantes is also a lovely historical place to visit too with plenty of choice in restaurants and bars.

This small town is unbelievable, its a photographers dream. The Old bridge, the parks, the Castle and Cathedral. Walk through the narrow street, often car free at weekends, or just sit a people watch at one of the cafes or restaurants. Its a place I would never grow tired of.

We have stayed in Clisson twice; it is a picturesque medieval village through which runs the River Sevre. There's plenty of things to see including the 13th Century castle, les halles, the cathedral, shops, and the river. There are plenty of excellent restaurants that serve gourmet food with local wine. A 20 - 30 minute train ride from Nantes, it's definitely worth a day trip or even a stay for a few days.

The rain didn't dampen our spirits of this really pretty medieval village. Lots of quaint little shops and staircases leading to new delights.

Clisson is a beautiful village with a very impressive castle. The views of the river from the bridge are stunning. A very nice day out from Namtes.
