An absolute must for any real pub lover

Unspoilt, unchanging, inexpensive, and serving fine local ales from barrels inside the serving-hatch style bar, you will not be disappointed.

Accommodation at only £55 for two, incl. a truly outstanding locally sourced breakfast, the Barley Mow is one not to be missed!

The Barley Mow Inn has only some rooms in the former stable building. They are old but clean. Could sleep very well in the bed. The pub is 300 years old and has mostly local ales, which are quite good. If you want food, you have to order it in advance because they do not have a proper restaurant. They landlady will then cook herself.
The cooked breakfast was lovely. Kirk Ireton is not far from Chatsworth House and Peak District national park.

This place is fantastic. The pub itself dates from the mid 17th century and the interior has not changed much since. The beer sits in barrels behind the tiny bar and is all from small breweries. The rooms are in the old stable block and are modern, bright and tastefully decorated.

The Landlady is very friendly and her breakfasts are really nice. You get a real sense of being looked after. All this for 55 pounds per night - it's a real bargain.
