We did the Copeland Marine Preserve 7 hour tour with Graham. They were ready for us and started the day with a review of rules and techniques. Graham was very relaxed and easy to talk with, he shared his knowledge of the area and the sea life. He made us a homemade lunch that was delicious! I can’t say enough about what a great experience we had and most of that goes to Graham’s guiding experience. If I return to the area I would definitely consider doing another tour, hopefully with the same guide but the others were also very friendly.

I did a five day kayak trip and really I'm writing this review because the staff when I arrived back in the bay and returned my kayak were super friendly and helpful (on Aug 20, josh and a female). It must be something in the well water that keeps them so happy! I loved the thermoform kayak I rented. Staff were great, gear was great and the blackberry picking while waiting for a friend to unload her kayak was the best I've ever picked! Would highly recommend renting from Powell River Sea Kayak!

As a group of five adult family members we paddled a 7 day trip with Luke and Kyle. Absolutely fantastic guides and chefs. They made us feel comfortable with each day’s planned paddle, and produced 5-star meals on the beach. Breathtaking scenery and swimming rounded out a great week. Highly recommended vacation.

We just returned from an incredible 4 days at Powell River Sea Kayak’s Cabana Resort. We are a family of 4 with children ages 9 and 12. This was our first trip with kids and our guides and cook took such great care of us from beginning to end. The cabins are super comfortable with attention to detail. The kayaking in Desolation Sound is spectacular. We spent one day relaxing on the island rather than kayaking with the rest of the group. It was great to have the SUPs, snorkel gear, and the swimming and jumping off the rocks were all fun activities. Combine that with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, delicious meals, and hot showers. We did not want to leave.

Our trip to Powell River was thrown together last minute, as a result almost all the tours with this company were booked. I asked if there were any other options for our family of 5. They were kind enough to set up a Savary Island tour with us and a guide which was truly a wonderfully experience, Erica made an amazing lunch, perfect for the day, and gave a lot of tips about kayaking and information about Savary Island, which has beautiful sandy beaches.
We rented kayaks a few days later on the Okeover side which is also beautiful. Liz helped us out in carrying down the kayaks, giving us the safety talk, and generally being awesome.
After doing one day with a guide and a day without I would recommend a guide, this comes from a land locked Albertan. They can guide you in the proper way the deal with boat traffic, there’s a lot of pleasure craft on the Okeover side and some of the wakes can be daunting. (For me anyway, my husband and kids didn’t even care.)
They’re accommodating, helpful, and seem determined to show everyone how great sea kayaking is, my whole family loved it!
