My parents, sister and I stayed just one night with Diana and David but we wished it was longer. Such a beautiful property and welcoming hosts. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable right away. Comfortable beds with high quality linens, a beautiful bathroom with fluffy towels, great WiFi and gorgeous gardens were some of the highlights. In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast with bacon and eggs, fresh fruit salad, homemade muffins and coffee/tea. I heartily recommend a stay here!
We spent just one night at Mt Geoffrey B and B, but would have happily stayed longer. It's quiet, and very clean, with large and airy rooms; the owners are very welcoming, and the breakfast great. You cannot ask for much more.
One thing struck us as a little unusual: in the room in which we stayed there were no curtains on the bedroom windows. This might suggest that privacy could be an issue, but it's not, since the windows look out onto a private, wooded area. Indeed, for us the view through large windows onto the trees was a feature not a problem. However, anyone needing darkness to sleep might find light summer mornings a concern in this room.
Oveerall we were very pleased with our stay and expect to return in the future.
Diana was an excellent host. The room was spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was tailored to our request. The location on the island is quiet yet close to everything.
We stayed at this lovely, quiet, wooded B & B for 3 nights and our experience was exceptional. The hosts, Diana & David were so hospitable and couldn't be more accommodating. Diana cooked delicious breakfasts and both provided a lot of information about places to see and hike on the island. The B & B was so clean and the beds very comfortable. Everything you needed in the bathroom was provided. The surrounding property was like a botanical garden with beautiful flowers everywhere and the deer made appearances every so often. We loved our stay at Mt. Geoffrey Bed & Breakfast and would definitely stay there again. We highly recommend it for couples and families.
Clean, new, fully equipped and very kind hosts.
Thank you Diana and David for your hospitality and for providing all of the great information about what your beautiful island had to offer us for 1 night in April. We appreciated that you accommodated us with the full suite since the restaurants were closed. We really hope we have the opportunity to come back in future!
We recently stayed on Hornby Island at the Mt. Geoffrey Bed and Breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights. Hornby is a small island so getting around to all the beaches and desirable places to see was easy.
We found our hosts to be friendly and always willing to engage in conversation. They readily gave us helpful information concerning the island. We were given directions to certain places with enthusiasm.
The B and B is located in a beautiful home surrounded by forest and trails for hiking.
The breakfast, while the same every day, was good and we were given enough food to 'fill us up'. Scrambled eggs were the daily menu.
One concern was that the owners will not allow guests to use charge cards (even with the initial deposit... we used paypal which was not our choice) to pay for the B and B. We found that not being allowed to use Visa or any other charge card was very inconvenient.
The only other problem was the bed in the room we were staying in. It was a small double bed with an older mattress. The bed was uncomfortable and too small for two adults. One of us is 6 feet 2 inches tall and his feet were sticking out the end of the bed.
Other than these two issues our stay was pleasant and the owners were friendly towards us.
Hornby is a lovely place to visit.
Hornby Island was delightful. Lots of interesting trails to check out. Great place for kids and adults even when the weather isn't the best. We were all made to feel very welcome start to finish. We'll highly recommend Mt. Geoffrey B&B.
