“Lovely stay- Shame about the seagulls!”
Reviewed 19 April 2012

I loved this hotel where I stayed for two nights. I really really loved the breakfasts! I really loved the daily specials board to choose from. The bedrooms are very tastefully decorated and suit the hotels surroundings. The bed was amazingly comfortable and I totally enjoyed my time there. My only complaint is that the windows were not the best quality to keep the noise of the seagulls out. Bloomin racket! But obviously, this is me nit picking. Oh and I would have appriciated a better quality teabag and coffee in the bedroom. But again, im nit picking. I will absolutly stay here again next time i am in bristol!

We stayed for 1 night.
The room decor was nice, but as there were three of us, the room was small so it was quite a squeeze. The bathroom was lovely and spacious though, although because I'm tall I banged my head hard on the top of the door frame on the way out! I also had a terrible nights sleep as i was sleeping on the sofa bed which was extremely uncomfortable and my mother kept being awaken in the night due to rowdy drunks outside the hotel. We were expecting a bar as many hotels and b&b's we have been to have had bars, but this one didn't. It had a small restaurant, and when we walked through in the morning, it was busy, but hardly anybody was talking. Not really our sort of place, but if you like a quiet atmosphere then this place is for you. Overall wasn't that impressed with this guesthouse, we prefer somewhere more lively.

Thank you for your comments sorry you did like your stay
The triple room you stayed in has two single beds & a chair bed which is suitable for children under 18 we do let guests know this on website and with third party websites but its not suitable for adults

Our honesty bar is open daily until midnight and later at the weekends its not a bar with a bar man , but you help your self and write down the drinks you have had. There are some good bars in the area with more atmosphere & music

sorry it was too quiet for you we have music playing in the breakfast room but perhaps a little too quietly on the day you stayed

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night during a road trip stopover in Bristol. The hotel is amazing. Great modern, Scandinavian style decor, inn courtyard with fountain, spacious an airy breakfast room, central location in the heart of Bristol. Spacious room with large modern bathroom. Nice comfy bedlinen. Very friendly receptionist. Great breakfast menu, healthy choices, very well presented. No parking, but they have a deal with a nearby car park, so you can park for 9,50GBP per day. The only downside was the noise coming from the next door nightclub. You definitely need earplugs at night to have a chance to get some sleep. Might be better on weekdays. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but would warn people with a light sleep! Would have given 5 stars otherwise!

Ask for a room on the courtyard though. Can be a bit noisy if you get one overlooking the pubs. Fab rooms, nicely decorated, calm colour schemes. Honesty bar downstairs great if you don't want to go out of an evening. Comfy beds, free wifi, luggage storage. Good stay.

Room Tip: On the courtyard.

Stayed for one night on a hen do, the guesthouse was absolutely lovely. The room was comfortable and light, modern and beautifally decorated. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was fab, there was pretty much anything you could want on the menu. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, esp with calling us taxi's all the time!! Some really nice quirky touches like the art work on the walls and the dog wallpaper in the toilet. Great location also, i will definately be returning!

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor are lovely and spacious

We arrived at Brooks Guest House and were warmly greeted by the receptionist who informed us that our room was ready ( 1pm). She was very courteous and provided us with details of key arrangements, breakfast details and Wi Fi with laptop for customer use. The rooms have a lovely, warmly feel even though they are smaller than the large chain hotels but this made the place feel more appealing. The bathroom was very clean with plenty of fresh towels. The breakfast was delicious and cooked in front of you in an open plan dining area. The choice of breakfast was good with plenty of juices and tea with toast and home made jam/marmalade.

Great location to visit the shops in Cabot Circus which is a 10 minute stroll and the harbourside with good choice of bars and restaurants to visit.

Would definately stay here again when in Bristol for the balloon festival in August.

Room Tip: We had a lower ground room floor facing the courtyard which was away from the noise of the neighbour...

Stayed for two nights recently and very happy with this choice. My son and I arrived on an early flight on the first day and had been told we were welcome to drop off bags until our room was ready. We did that and were offered breakfast which was appreciated - and delicious. Excellent chef provides gourmet breakfasts. The receptionist (who so kindly offered us breakfast) was friendly and helpful. Location is great so no reason to stay anywhere else.
