Mad Squirrel Tap & Bottle Shop
Ranked #42 of 253 Restaurants in High Wycombe
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Our biggest Tap & Bottle Shop to date, High Wycombe got the full Mad Squirrel treatment plus more! With 20 taps of awesome beer, a huge bottled and canned beer selection (housed in our walk-in chiller ‘The Bottlebox’), plus a great selection of ciders and wines. High Wycombe was also the first outlet to have a small batch, hand roasted coffee offering and an artisan pizza kitchen, for when you get the beer munchies. Everything is available for in or out consumption, and the menu’s (both beer and pizza) are always evolving, so there’s always a reason to come back for more!

Called in for one at this regular haunt; never disappointed! Had a strong, flavoursome ‘Roadkill’ - highly recommended!

Absolute great craft ale pub. Got some absolutely excellent choices. From pilsner, to sours and stout.

Recommend sumo. Really refreshing.

Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Great place to have a drink and relax.

It probably doesn't look particularly welcoming from the outside, with it's sparse, slightly industrial, interior, but it's definitely worth venturing through the door. The bar staff are friendly and helpful with advice on the many beers on offer. Sadly there's only 3 or 4 real ales ('cask'), with the rest on keg. (Or 'craft' as we have to call them now). There's also a large selection of bottles available, on display in a chilled room opposite the bar. There's usually one real ale from a guest brewery with the others from the Mad Squirrel brewery itself. (For the record, there's not a brewery on site). The range of bottles covers many small UK breweries and a number from overseas too.
If you do no more than drink the beer you won't be disappointed!
That said, if you're feeling hungry then the range of pizzas is not large but all offer good value. The 'restaurant' is upstairs but they'll be happy to server the pizza in the bar below.
I'd recommend any that include star-anise infused pineapple!
All in all a very good bet for something something a little different.

If you like beer and are in Wycombe this is my number one choice to visit. 16-20 draft and cask beers and if that's not enough for you a walk in chiller area with a much wider choice of cans and bottles to drink in or take away. Can be busy in the evenings or a haven of peace in the afternoon. And they also do a good selection of pizzas, wines and gin. Friendly and welcoming staff make it even better!
