Just back from seeing Horrible Histories which itself was very good but this is about The Wycombe Swan itself and that wasn't great.

They had no draught beer or cider - the same as when I went 2 months ago to see a dance show my daughters were in.

They were out of all but one flavour of ice cream at the interval.

They were out of all but one wine.

Not enough people serving meant queuing for a time longer than the interval itself.

Pretty poor and they didn't really care.

And they charge a pound for a crappy booster seat.

Sorry, really not impressed, management failed there.

Just got home from a fantastic, nostalgic sing-along afternoon at the superb Wycombe Swan theatre. The theatres very good acoustics, really helped the atmosphere as the D-Day Darlings serenaded us with all the patriotic songs of the war. I had taken a 94 year old war veteran with me,and when I booked the tickets,he asked if he could sit as close as possible to the stage, because of his eyesight.I was a bit worried, because the front few rows are untiered, but we were two rows from the stage, and in the middle, with a brilliant view of the stage, which was only eye-level height. The seats are comfortable, and there is plenty of legroom for a six footer. Another big bonus is having the multi-story car park next door, and only £1 to park all day on a Sunday. Overall, a very memorable day, enjoyed in a lovely theatre that High Wycombe can be proud of.

We didn’t book for a meal but on arriving in High Wycombe it made sense to eat here. Not many tables but we managed to get one, friendly bar staff but the food was not good, my chicken had blood in it and I was advised by the waiter that sometime that happened but it was cooked, I did not want salmonella so I got another portion this time it was cooked properly and very nice, dessert was waffles and ice cream - quite nice but there was a large piece of plastic under the waffle. Not at all good for a quite expensive meal.

We went to see Suggs in The Old Town Hall we had to wait until half an hour before the show started before we were allowed in, free seating so we got a good seat in the second row but the area was so hot it was almost unbearable and the small bar in the corner had such a large queue that it was not worth missing the show for. Suggs was brilliant but I won’t be going there to see him again.

What a great little theatre this is! Went to see a concert there and couldn't really fault it - great acoustics, comfy seats and very convenient. Looked like a decent bar there though we went for pre-show drinks in one of the many pubs really close by. Parking was excellent and efficient but remember to pay for your tickets on arrival to avoid the queues on departure - cheap car park too - only £2 as free after 8pm so only had to pay for the time from arrival until 8pm. Only very slight criticism is the exits are rather limited so it takes time to exit after the show
