I asked someone in Cambridge to recommend me a Chinese restaurant near Downing College. I was told that a number of mainland Chinese students doing post-graduate courses would frequent this restaurant.
The restaurant's ambience seemed nicer than most Chinese restaurants in Cambridge. But I'm afraid that's the only good thing I can say about this place.
I ordered a dish of tofu with scallops, and a dish of fried pork, which I understand is their speciality. The tofu with scallops contained a very liberal dose of MSG, and I was thirsty for hours after the meal. As for the fried pork, it was probably 90% batter and 10% pork as far as I could tell.
Am not likely to return.
