Paying over £200 a night b&b we expected better. We booked up a week before and were told we would not get a refund if we cancelled as we had chosen a £50 per night discount. We reluctantly accepted this but on arrival they wanted our card and £100 to cover any spending we might make. So not a trusting friendly start. The staff on the whole were good especially the manager Shara. The room was clean and hot, too hot but you could ask them to turn down the underfloor heating which helped. The bathroom had been refurbished but with a very poor design. Small shower cubicle with large over head fixed shower so you had to get your hair wet. No-where to place soap or shampoo, the hand basin was too high to use comfortably and had no light above it. Breakfast was ok with a lot of staff buzzing around who generally forgot anything you asked for. We did not risk eating in but eat at the new Trinity restaurant instead, very good indeed.
The grounds were large and pleasant no trouble parking. The final disappointment was being charged £2 a night for a small bottle of water which in any other hotel would have been complimentary. Could be better.More
