Yes folks, it’s Chester, a pint and a large wine exceeds £10. That’s nearly London prices. Food not cheap either. However, what is important is the beer and food is top class. Advice, don’t treat the light bites as a starter, they are a meal on their own. By example, less than 30 miles away I can get real ale and the same wine for just over £5. What is it with Chester?

A lovely meal including the steak and ale pie, homemade chips and red cabbage, was down with a wonderful pint of Thirstquencher. Superb as always.

A large, bright room with uncrowded tables, a large selection of beers, some interesting and tasty food and friendly staff behind the bar. What more could you want? We had a very pleasant lunch there.

Called in on a Saturday afternoon looking for a pint of bitter. They had nothing to offer but 2 lagers and a pale ale. We left.

Hi Tara,
We're sorry the cask ales were off when you visited last week. One of our beer line coolers failed (though the cellar temp was unaffected) so the beer was too warm at dispense. We pride ourselves on the quality of our real ales so had no option but to take the cask ales off for about 4 hours and for the only time since we created the Brewery Tap 10 years ago. We had a replacement cooler installed later on Saturday afternoon and were then back to having the fantastic beer selection for which we have become so well known. We hope you call in again soon and enjoy your visit.

Just moved to Chester and this pub is 100mtr from my flat. A fantastic period architecture pub! It’s amazing. Choice of food is good but could do with more vegetarian/vegan choices. According to menu food is local sourced and some is organic. They make their own ketchup and brown source as well.
The choice of real ales is very good. It is so relaxing to go into a pub with no music and no TV....reminded me of my travels in Amsterdam!

Thank Steve F
