Stayed in the Abode Chester on the 21st March 2012 with friends this was our second stay, first time was 1 year ago and the standards have not changed, they are still very high. Hotels in the UK could learn a tremendous amount from the Abode. Our standard of hygiene is very high and this is the only hotel we have ever stayed in that we cannot fault in anyway. All the staff are very accommodating nothing is two much trouble. We look forward to our next stay. Thankyou

A special occasion deserves a special treat and the whole family were delighted with the star treatment we experienced during our weekend stay at the Chester Abode. Service impeccable, food glorious - oh soooo glorious and beautiful appointed modern rooms. Well done Abode for making our visit memorable. ps my mother still talks about "that huge bed"

Room Tip: Outward facing rooms are the best - Race course or City views

My wife and I stayed for her birthday, I booked us in a Desirable Room. They kindly provided her a birthday card and choccies which I thought was a nice gesture.

I was however disappointed with the bathroom we had. There was smeared water marks on the black wall and it looked a little grimey.

The bed was amazing! Bit smaller than I imagined but credit where credits due - a very cosy nights sleep.

We enjoyed our stay however I really do believe it's overpriced - and maintenance need to have a look at the bathroom.

We stayed at the Abode for our anniversary, overall the hotel is lovely, nice clean rooms, helpful staff on reception and a luxury feel to the rooms.

The only problem we found was on arrival in our room. We had paid for a Desirable Room and had been promised a view of either the racecourse or the city (that was the selling point and why we paid extra), however when we arrived we found that we were facing a horrible block of offices! We called reception and were told there were no other desirable rooms available for the night. We were offered a 'Fabulous on Sixth' room for an extra £100 which we could not justify. We ended up giving £50 cash and being upgraded to a 'Fabulous' room. And although it was impressive, it was only what we were promised and were expecting from our desirable room! The only difference being the balcony which, to be fair, was huge! I assume we were put in the cheapest of the sixth floor rooms because from looking at the fire exit poster on the back of the wall, ours was by far the smallest!

Plus points though: Staff were helpful, rooms were clean, got our full breakfast delivered to the room for no extra charge (although the bacon was terrible!), free snack selection in the room.

I'd recommend this hotel for couples looking for a romantic treat.

Room Tip: Request a nice view. Perhaps even worth specifying that you do not want to be facing inwards towards...

Me & my boyfriend stayed her for a 21st Birthday treat!
We visited the zoo which was lovely and only about ten minutes away
The hotel was amazing !! very clean and modern !! .. A little pricey but we did upgrade our room !!
We had a large open space with a bath by the bed and a seperate bathroom. Lots of lovely little touches like toiletries & sweets, chocolate etc complementary
There were a few things that let the room down, the docking station did not work & was falling to pieces and the robes were very raggy and over used !!
Don't let this put you off !!
It's just the small things that count :) I did also email over my thoughts a month ago and am still awaiting a reply !!

We stayed for a Friday night on a last minute deal. Very impressive modern building that we have admired on many occasions as we drove past. Check in was quick and efficient and I have to say the Reception staff were some of the most pleasant and helpful we have ever known. The room was not that big but very comfortable and spotless with a lovely bathroom. We had a good view over the front of the hotel. Breakfast is served in the very fancy restaurant on the 5th Floor. It was tasty with a good choice of cold food as well as cooked to order breakfasts off the menu although I do think only half a mushroom is a bit mean spirited!!

We ate out in one of the many restaurants in Chester but had a drink in the bar on the way home which was full of a mixture of all age groups.
Parking was easy - £10 for the night and they let us leave our car there well after check out
Thoroughly recommend

Staff in the front desk were efficient enough but had drab suits on, work provided I'm sure but as a first impression not the best. The rooms had a terrible view but was specious, functional and very clean. Gym looked good but didn't actually use it. Limited parking spaces but as it was a Saturday we parked in office spaces so it made to difference to our stay.
