“Lovely Cottage- Home from home.”
Reviewed May 12, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

My husband and myself had a lovely week's holiday in Chester, staying at Baker's Cottage was the icing on the cake. It was lovely and clean and had everything you could want for a week's holiday. On a rainy day it was so cosy to come home to. There are so many things to do in and around Chester. Jo left us a welcome pack which was very much appreciated.

We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Chester – there’s so much to do in the city not to mention North Wales, the Wirral and Liverpool! We’ve been coming here for years and still find new things to do each time. I hope we’ll be welcoming you back again, best wishes, Jo & Peter

“Our Home Away From Home”
Reviewed November 16, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Baker´s Cottage is an absolutely lovely place to stay when you want to visit Chester and the area. The landlords are very friendly, professional and helpful.
The location is perfect - it is only 10 minutes away from Chester centre with all its attractions. We can highly recommend Baker´s Cottage.

“Residential = Living next door to neighbours who unlike you are not on holiday !”
Reviewed August 4, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We rented this cottage for a week and found it very comfortable with clean bedding and an upmarket feel.
It is a 15-20 minute stroll into town full of restaurants and lovely shops.
Disappointingly the TV is not the standard large screen that you have in your home but smaller.
Beware that the yard is a yard and the neighbours washing is in full view which we found off putting when sitting outside, as well as the DIY skill saw operated by the neighbours in the afternoon.

Chester is one of our favourite places for shopping and eating out and we’re glad to hear that our guests took full advantage of having the city centre close to hand. Following their feedback, we’ll look into getting a larger TV than our current 26”. In the meantime, I’ve added a new photo to our gallery which hopefully shows the TV size more clearly in relation to the living room. I’ve also put the TV details into our new access statement. Jo

“Excellent Stay”
Reviewed April 22, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Had a wonderful Easter Weekend at Baker's Cottage. A short and pleasant stroll from Chester city centre, the cottage enjoyed a super location and the bonus of its own parking space. Tastefully furnished and decorated, it was exceptionally well-equipped, spotlessly clean and very warm and homely. Great beds with nice, crisp linen and a spacious bathroom all added to the brownie points, as did the very welcome tea, coffee, milk and chilled bottle of wine on arrival. Would recommend for a hassle-free and very comfortable stay in this beautiful city.

“Well maintained property in easy walking distance of the city centre”
Reviewed June 30, 2015 for a stay in May 2013

I stayed here on my own in May 2012 - and liked it enough to go back in May 2013 with my mother.
Decent directions (sat nav gets a little confused 1 road away from the property) and good information given re access to the keys.
Nice welcome pack on arrival - with a personalised note. Information leaflets provided about all local attractions and some further afield.
Good location to visit places like Liverpool and north Wales.
House is only a few minutes walk from the river - very pleasant to stroll along the river bank - and decent walking distance to the town centre for restaurants, shops, the cathedral etc etc
Linen and decent sized towels are included in the price - and the bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower cubicle.
The owner is really friendly and very easy to deal with.

“Home from Home”
Reviewed October 7, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

What a gem of a house. Relaxing, calming, comfortable, fully equipped, little touches. Comfy beds, lovely bathroom, cleanliness great. Easy walk into Chester at the Dee Bridge, slow climb down. We also walked back, 10 mins on way down, little longer on return but not difficult unless you walk in the hot sunshine as we made the mistake of doing!!!!!
Jo and Peter, owners, were so helpful from booking to our stay and after too. Communication absolutely second to none. We travelled by train from South Wales, lovely journey, taxis waiting outside only a few minutes to the house. Information supplied in the house is great, covers everything that we required. Would definately stay again.
Visit the Garden Centre, biggest one I have been in. Eat at the Handbridge or even just a drink 5 min walk from the house. No need to go into Chester in the evening if you do not feel like, Takeaway menus provided in the house we used the Karai Lounge Indian and Dominos Pizza, delivery quick, food great. Visited Llangollen, drink at the Corn Mill overlooking the river and watching the rafting. Canal walk and aquaduct. Chester River Trip only 15 minutes but you can see how the other half lives....... Plenty to do and see in and around Chester in fact a weekend is not long enough.

“Oh, Lovely Place!”
Reviewed September 6, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Once I looked at the pics on the website, I thought it was nice and I was kind of skeptical. However, when my family and I finally settled there, it's really lovely and excellent place for us. The nice owner left us a specific manual, biscuits, tea and coffee when we arrived; it made us feel warmly welcome. It was easy to walk from Baker's Cottage to downtown Chester. After we spent 8 nights, we were sad to leave. Definitely, we would come back to that place when we will visit England again! We loved that place!
