“Fantastic house & Base”

We found this house online . A family with four young children . The house is new and modern , but feels traditional with a range , log fire etc . The house is very warm with underfloor heating downstairs . Every utensil on earth was provided & good quality at that . There's wi-fi which was brilliant & good quality TV's with freebies and a good sound system . No expense has been spared on this house & it feels like a hind from home . We found it a great base for a holiday , with Wrexham in North wales 20 minutes away and similar time to Chester. We took a trip to Drayton amusement park , with Thomas The Tank Engine Land . A two hour journey , but well worth it. We ate in some of the evenings and ate in the Bull pub which is about 20 metres from the house !! It meant we could have a drink with dinner and not worry about driving . The food in the bull was excellent . The house is about an hour and a half from Holyhead if your coming from Ireland . Would highly recommend this house .

“Felt right at home”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We arrived at ash grove house towards the end of a 3 month tour of Europe and the uk and after a 5 hour drive. And what a delight it was! Cliff ans Shirley offered a very warm welcome and even warmer house (they had lit the fire for us)!. The house itself offered the best of both worlds with an immaculate modern home set in a charmingly historic countryside village. Every need was catered for. The location s a wonderful central spt to tour Chester, Liverpool and northern wales. After 3 months on the road we felt so relaxed at ash grove - it was almost like being at home! We would highly recommend.

“Great countryside retreat, perfect for couples and families alike!”

We had a long weekend stay here during the first week of August, and found the house to be a perfect retreat. It is located in a lovely village, but easily driveable to larger amenities/shopping/sight-seeing around other parts of Cheshire or Shropshire. There is a nice looking pub in the village, and lots of suggestions for other places to eat and visit are kept within the house should you be short of ideas.
The house itself was perfect for us - a family with 3 children between the ages of 3 and 9. The lovely bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of storage - the master bedroom had an ensuite, leaving the main bathroom free for the children to make use of. Downstairs, an immaculate kitchen with sofas to relax on, together with a good sized sitting room, meant that everyone had somewhere to chill out at the end of each busy day. The garden was a particular bonus for the children to run around in and blow off steam, being enclosed and laid to lawn with a paved area for seating.
Although we didn't make use of it, the offer of using the facilities and free rounds of golf at a nearby leisure resort made the price of this break very good value. The weather was fantastic during our stay and we had tickets to CarFest North so our days were very full, however, should we stay at this property again we would definitely make use of this added extra.
All in all a lovely house, exceptionally clean and tidy, fantastically fitted out and perfect for couples, families or groups of friends to spend time in.
As a final word, the reception we had from Cliff and Shirley on arrival, and again on departure, was first class. They were friendly, helpful and unobtrusive - although we felt we could have called on them at the drop of a hat if we had needed to....exactly what you want when renting somewhere for a stay.
We would definitely recommend a stay at Ashgrove House, and indeed have already spread the word amongst our friends should they be after a break in this lovely part of the country!
