“Wonderful bolt-hole to explore Chester.”
Reviewed 17 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Loved the flat, which had everything my husband and I needed for our short break in Chester. It's convenient for the city centre, for walking round Chester's city wall and we had some lovely meals a stone's throw away. It was quiet and had a lovely view over the river. Also, the gated car park was secure and convenient, not that we needed to use our car once we'd arrived.

“Superb location”
Reviewed 30 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Great flat with a superb location, handy for the city centre and not too far from the train station. Nicely furnished and good view of the river. Competitively priced. Loved the freedom this place offered.
Unfortunately there were lots of stairs- with no lift and no tea towels were provided in the kitchen. An impromptu trip to the supermarket had to be taken for tea towels and enough toilet tissue to last our stay!!

Thank you for your review - I am sorry no tea towels were left in the apartment they should have been! I do supply at least two rolls of toilet paper for guests stay, however, as these are apartments rather than hotel rooms for longer staying guests I would expect them to purchase their own toiletries in the same way I have to when I stay away. If you had called me I would have arranged to bring you tea towels rather than you having to purchase any - my apologies for this.

I am afraid there is nothing I can do about the lift situation as this is an older apartment block - I will try and ensure that it is clear on my listing in the future that there is no lift.

“Quiet, clean, comfortable, secure apartment”
Reviewed 13 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Perfect location for enjoying Chester.
Close to historical sites, museums, cathedral, shopping, cafés, restaurants.
Nice, secure apartment with all facilities for long stay.
Good, secure parking provided.
Responsive hostess if any issues.
Would rent again if staying in Chester.
Great for couples.
Renters must recognize this is a second floor apartment (3rd floor if North American), and there is no elevator: 29 steps as I recall.

Liked best: Location
Liked least: Shower: the typical British power-saving "instant heat" shower, which means it is rather weak, but typical of many places.

“Beautiful apartment, delightful setting.”
Reviewed 21 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Newly established, nicely decorated. Bed linen of excellent quality and plenty of soft, thick towels. Good kitchen with plenty of pots, crockery etc. Instruction booklets for the appliances which was good as I was unfamiliar with the microwave/oven.
Like another reviewer I found the lack of a headboard on the bed irritating. Pillows fell down the large gap and you couldn't sit up in bed. A shelf would fix that.
Situated in a central part of town we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Being newly established the taxi companies had never heard of the place. We have now established Domas House on the computer of one company.

Liked best: The location. Oh and the luxury towels!
Liked least: Getting the key from the drop box not easy for arthritic fingers.

Thank you for your review. I am looking into getting a shelf put on the back of the double bed but getting the fitters to come back and do this is a challenge as I agree it must be very frustrating losing pillows during the night and not being able to sit up. I hope I can rectify this shortly.

“An excellent break with a couple of minor snags”

We would have used the box marked good had there been one. The position of the flat is fantastic with an excellent view but we thought a few aspects could be improved. A full length mirror in the living room would be an advantage as would a couple of bedside tables with lamps and the fold-up bed suffers from having no headboard so one can't really sit up and read. This also means that one can wake up in the morning to find one's pillows have fallen behind the bed. The kitchen and bathroom are really well appointed though I was surprised to find no shaver point in the bathroom. We'd like to make clear however, that these are minor quibbles: the flat is really convenient for all major attractions in the city and, just a few small adjustments would really make the difference. There are bound to be a few problems with a new apartment and we hope our comments will be regarded as constructive criticism.
