“Misses a trick”

This is advertised as a luxury holiday flat and on arrival it seemed to fit the bill. It is a lovely flat in a wonderful location but it is unfortunately let down by things that shouldn't arise. There is a lovely cream tea in the flat when you arrive but when you come to clean up there is no sign of a dish cloth or scourer so we were forced to go out and purchase cleaning materials A lot of the crockery was chipped and the cutlery was heavily stained, a problem caused by providing EPNS rather than stainless steel. The flat is advertised as being for 4 but there were not matching glasses sufficient for four people.As it got dark and we switched the lights on we found three bulbs not working in the lounge and kitchen. In the morning I went to use the grill and found it filthy from the previous residents. (Just as well we had gone out the night before to buy cleaning items) There was no towel in the cloakroom. Another minor point is that the allocated parking space is some distance away and not in the adjacent car park, as the flat is next to events square it is possible to return and find someone parked in your space. There is a security post in place at the parking bay but no key or direction how to use it.
As said the flat is in a great location and perfect for watching the boats in the harbour but just needs a bit more attention to detail to justify the 'luxury' tag. The flat could so easily warrant the term luxury but just misses out, perhaps a change of management team would help

Thank you for your review. I am sorry not everything was perfect - obviously we do try but occasionally minor things slip past us. We provide both dish cloths and scourers each week so I am disappointed that you did not locate them. Your visit at the end of a busy season was just before we replaced all of the crockery and glassware, so future guests will hopefully be fully catered for. Although I feel your 3 Star rating is harsh I have passed all of your comments to the housekeeping team for a full review. The parking space is some 200 yards from the front door in a private car park. It is fully detailed in the arrival instructions and there is no 'lift-out post'. I can only presume you were in completely the wrong place! I am not sure what else we could do on this one, and we have never had a guest unable to find the space or have someone unauthorised park in their space. As you say, the apartment is in a great location and perfect for watching the boats in the harbour, which is why most of our guests return year after year.
